As a Marine veteran with a thorough understanding of the drama ecosystem among the females in orbit around Marines, I want to offer a very plausible explanation.

Female Marines and the wives of Marines are fucking ruthless. Few friendships between them are real, and it's like a years-long game of Survivor crossed with The Bachelor.

I can tell you this: I would put about a 1% chance on this being a real profile posted by the actual person depicted. There's damn near no way...with the kid in the shot? With the "please don't tell on me", virtually guaranteeing someone will tell just for the sport of it? No way, fellas. No way.

This woman has a Marine husband that some other woman wants. Most likely, one of her husband's female Marine coworkers. That bitch would have access to enough info to dig up pictures and some personal details to make this happen. The other woman will be the first to "leak" the existence of the profile to a mutual friend - possibly a co-conspirator.

Even if the couple stays together - you can't repair the chemical damage to your hypothalamus after a massive questioning of trust like this hits you. This will fuck them up for life, and there is no way to protect oneself from this kind of bullshit.
