Without going into too much detail, about half my group got hit. If I weren't good at what I do (and I am damn good), I'd be out the door too. Guess what, the jobs didn't actually go away. They got moved....to INDIA. Reason cited by my manager: health care costs. No health care expense with the Indians, so they got the American jobs, the Americans got the boot.

So this kind of gets me thinking about this, maybe I just feel like clacking my mechanical keyboard (which is strangely therapeutic), so I am going to lay it down: The bottom line is Americans are too too dumb, and they don't care.

They are too bamboozled by sports, the super bowl, the mma, their cars, yapping about their toys, what their kids are doing, and absolutely NO INTEREST AT ALL in anything that directly impacts them in the wider world. They know nothing about economics, nothing about politics, history, nothing about just about fucking everything. They don't read, not even fiction. Out of about 40 people in my group, maybe one or two I could have a reasonably intelligent conversation with. Otherwise, if you broached on a conversation regarding anything besides work, you better know what the fuck is going on with Peyton Manning or you wont have a conversation. It's that bad.

No one cares and they live in their own bubble world until the day comes when they gauntlet falls, and they are shown the door.

This absence of American intelligence and more importantly, WILL TO CARE AND ACT, has created a vacuum in American institutions. That void is now filled with intelligent sociopaths, who are imposing THEIR will on the American landscape. They can, because the average American is sitting at home watching their football game, uncaring, unthinking.

THAT is why this is happening, and it's not getting any better. So I am wondering, how bad are things going to get? Because I can't see the bottom here. If how bad things will get are inversely correlated to American generally intelligence, care and will, then we are talking about a bottomless pit here.
