It is also worth pointing out the deceptive wording in that wikipedia article to make it look like they are doing better than they are.

"Mass Effect 1 and 2 had combined sales of over 7 million units." That means over 7 million copies of the game were purchased.

"Mass Effect 3 grossed over $200 million" is worded differently because Mass Effect 3 was also bad and didn't sell well. If you do the math, $200 million at $60 per copy is less than 4 million copies sold. However, keep in mind this is "grossed over $200 million" which will include more than just copies of the game, it will also include DLC and might even include copies of a game that were refunded or returned.

I am not entirely worried about this because other companies are coming up and replacing them.

Games like Greedfall, Kingdom come: deliverance (a game that had a higher player count on Steam than Assassin's creed Odessey btw) will be made by creative companies that care about the game than wokeness.

So when the next AAA woke infested live service comes out, check out the smaller indie projects you will be entertained.

Companies will keep releasing woke games, but only in established franchises. Those games where the fans will buy the next entry regardless (TLoU2 for instance), and they'll claim the initial sales proved that people want more "woke" in their games, while ignoring the massive dropoff in sales weeks later. Paid reviewers praise the games as though they were forged on Mt. Olympus, and yet they rarely, if ever, play them more than a minute or two.

Third party studios weren't just rising because "making simple games are easier" as most review sites claimed, and yes, there are woke indie games, but really they were the counter to the woke AAA games.

This isn't necessarily a woman phenomenon. This is really more caused by people joining who were not at the founding or do not adhere to care about what was initially done there.
