Being in my mid 50's I am old for Reddit's standards; but I do love Reddit, with all its shortcomings, it's a great resource.

So today I was out with my new "friend" (a woman) and we were talking about all sort of stuff, and something came to mind, this post is the summary of the stuff in my mind.

I grew up in a very small town in the Pacific Northwest and the world today is quite different than the world that I was led to believe while I was growing up. Not bad/good, not worst/better, just different.

There's more, but... the world is quite different from what I thought it was from the stories I was told by my parents, society, etc... these days, I like it a lot, almost love it; the information is out there, we might not like what we see, but ... the dynamics are pretty clear; so we get to choose what archetype we want to play out in our life.
