I just saw a post that said women should not be allowed in this subreddit, even as allies, and I just wanted to say a few things to maybe help understand why some women subscribe (this is only to explain, not to shake a finger, I swear to fucking Christ)
I am a woman and I genuinely love and respect this sub as a person who understands needing to step away from the toxicity of relationships and be left alone.
I'm childfree, anti-marriage and will always live on my own. I don't understand committed relationships where two people work through their misery with one another to stay together out of fear of being alone.
I have a friend getting married to a woman because he knows she'll leave him if he doesn't. This disappoints me severely and all I want to do his tell him what a fucking idiot he is and how being alone is not something to fear but something to embrace. And how this will not fix his problem but give his fiancé leverage over any aspect of their life together that they disagree on. But, all I can do is be a friend when their marriage (inevitably) fails.
This sub gives me confidence outside of the modern expectations I fail to meet and am judged for by women (and my own family) myself. My solitude, personal experiences and love for myself are what draw me to this sub. These types of subs for women are filled with whining, feminism and horrendous quotes about "we don't need no man, we have dildos" type of shit that does not resonate with me.
I definitely don't hate women (most of my friends are females) but I don't relate to them and they don't relate to me when it comes to career paths, future goals and relationships.

I will never post here again, or comment, I will continue lurking and finding inspiration and respectfully keep my opinions to myself (with the exception of this post which I know I have no right to post).

I admire those of you who have found yourselves and share your happiness, thank you guys for everything that women can't give me either.
