I'm 35 and I've never seen women being discouraged from pursuing a line of work because they don't have a penis.

If the current generation in school, particularly university or college, feels that they can't do something because of sexism... That's says much more about they're own competency and self confidence/perception than any prejudiced, preconceived idea about you that I can think of.

Back in the 80's I worked in a factory as a turner/miller/tool maker. Once we had some work experience girls come in to get some experience of factory work. Watching them try to saw and file was hilarious. Even after machines had drilled holes simply tapping and dying was a sight to behold.

It's interesting that he failed to mention relaxed admission standards for women applying for engineering schools. Oh, and the ridiculous amount of free money out there for female engineering students. I really don't see how women and white knights can continue to peddle this 'disadvantaged and discouraged' bullshit.

Not once have I ever seen a girl told to not do dirty jobs or not get interested in math. In fact, I saw quite the opposite, girls were, and are, heavily encouraged to get into math and science and simply having a vagina opens tons of doors for you in the STEM fields.

Our society will just not accept that girls want different things, they choose different careers because they don't like STEM. All this politicized bullshit is just going make more girls feel pressured into careers they wont enjoy.

Its interesting though, because that tiny number of girls that goes into something like engineering are usually top of their class. Basically, the types of girls who get into those fields tend to be very different, sometimes kind of strange, and have extreme degrees of motivation. They are all the very right-hand side of the bell curve. Most girls don't have those kind of interests. But our society will always attempt to ascribe this to cultural conditioning.
