To prove a dog is man's best friend... Lock a woman and a dog in your trunk for 30 Minutes. Open the trunk and see who is happy to see you. Also, I have lived long enough to say I love you to two woman and every dog I have spent more than 2 hours with.

A dog is the solution. Even better is two dogs. When humans are stuck alone in a house for hours at a time they have endless distractions. To a dog that is the same as solitary confinement. Unless you are able to treat being it's friend like a full time job, then you are dooming them to a life of extreme boredom most of the time. They can't read books or watch tv or call a friend up on the phone.

Dogs are the best. Cats are too chill, I want to run around the beach with my pet and I can't do that at the moment since my Mexican Red Knee hates me. So I'm planning on getting a Staffordshire bull terrier sometime down the road. Parents bought two pups a few months before I was born and I loved the pair of them.

Looks like a good boy you have there! Dogs are the most amazing companions you can have in your life, they will be there for you no matter how rough a day you're having and they can actually sense when you're upset or sick. If sex or kids are not a priority for you then I'd recommend you get a dog before a girlfriend. A dog will never nag, cheat on you, abandon you, lie to you, play mindgames with you etc..just pure love.

Got that right. If you want companionship, get an animal.

Whether it's dogs, cats, companion parrots, or whatever floats your boat... the moral of the story is that animals are honest by instinct and provide better (and cheaper) company than women ever will. You'll never worry about them not actually loving you, or only loving you for your wallet, or cheating on you with some other dude, or any of that bullshit. And as an added bonus, they usually make better conversation partners too.
