Ambiguity is your best course of action because you could be single with no children for any reason including reasons protected under the rules of clown world. Once they realise this, they will back off because they don't want to rock the boat and be sent to the social gulag.

I just say no. If they ask why, I say it's because I would rather retire sooner. I've never had anyone get angry about that answer. They probably assume that I'm joking.

To the question if I (23M) ever want to marry or have kids I simply answer: " I do want kids, but not in a society like ours." When they insist about the marriage part I simply ask them to sell it to me. The most common answer so far is:" It gives you stability" My answer:" For whom? ME? definitely not! I have nothing to gain in a marriage , and everything to lose! So no thank you"
