OK, but to get this load of glucose you'd have to eat 150 grams of table sugar, because it's one part glucose and one part fructose. Fructose is metabolized in the liver, and does not acutely influence serum glucose or serum insulin levels. There have been attempts to demonize fructose as causing NAFLD but there's a huge epidemiological study from Finland showing an INVERSE correlation between fructose and NAFLD, with those in the highest intake quartile (up to 80 grams a day) showing the lowest rates of NAFLD. Epidemiological studies are a very weak form of corroborative evidence, because there are so many spurious correlations, but a NEGATIVE correlation strongly implies that the fructose-NAFLD hypothesis is mistaken. Additionally, the main proponent of this view, Dr. Robert Lustig, got his ass handed to him in an online debate with Alan Aragon, and essentially rage quit after failing to answer Alan's many objections to the quality of the evidence he adduced for his alarmist view.

Additionally, a comparable drop in testosterone is observed after eating food of any kind. This fact has been cited endlessly as evidence in favor of Intermittent Fasting. And a decline in the serum levels of a hormone may not indicate any dysfunction in the system that hormone is a part of -- for example, there was a lot of very BAD and pointedly anti-male "science" about how "testosterone reduces immunity," because researchers observed that certain markers of immunity (white blood cells or antibodies, can't remember) were lower in men with higher testosterone. BUT, it turned out to be the case that men with high testosterone actually have functionally ENHANCED immunity, because testosterone causes those structures to disperse from the blood into the skin, where they can more readily defend against infection after cuts or abrasions.

I'm not saying go eat a bunch of sugar, I'm saying the science on this is far from settled. What's pretty much beyond dispute is the Randle Effect, in which carbs and fats compete with each other to be metabolized, so eating lots of carbs and fats together WILL drive your blood sugar up and cause all sorts of associated problems. By that token, many of the foods we know to be "unhealthy" such as donuts, pastries, fried desserts etc. are high in sugar AND fats, and usually the lowest quality of fats at that.

any time you eat it lowers testosterone so its not big deal

also sugar can lower SHBG and release free Testosterone though it needs to be cycled.

also 75g is a lot of sugar. a can of coke has like 39 grams which is like 10-12 teaspoons of sugar...75g is almost twice that.

I've read that obesity results in a lowered testosterone level. Supposedly, adipose tissue is now considered an endocrine organ that produces many different hormones, one of which is "estrogen".

It requiers alot more than one article to come to scientific conclusions. Please don't jump to conclusion too easily, other scientists have to produce the same results before jumping to conclusion.

Reading the study instead of the article I'm not convinced.

15% of the participants had levels decrease at some time, which the study concludes was because a testicular defect.

Article title smells like clickbait.

The study:

RESULTS:

57% of the men had normal GT, 30% had impaired GT and 13% had newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes. Glucose ingestion was associated with a 25% decrease in mean T levels (delta = -4·2 ± 0·3 nm, P < 0·0001). T levels remained suppressed at 120 min compared with baseline (13·7 ± 0·6 vs 16·5 ± 0·7 nm, P < 0·0001) and did not differ across GT or BMI. Of the 66 men with normal T levels at baseline, 10 (15%) had levels that decreased to the hypogonadal range (<9·7 nm) at one or more time points. SHBG, LH and cortisol levels were unchanged. Leptin levels decreased from baseline at all time points (P < 0·0001).

CONCLUSIONS:

Glucose ingestion induces a significant reduction in total and free T levels in men, which is similar across the spectrum of glucose tolerance. This decrease in T appears to be because of a direct testicular defect, but the absence of compensatory changes in LH suggests an additional central component. Men found to have low nonfasting T levels should be re-evaluated in the fasting state.
