Basically imagine sailor moon but it's all dudes and very ironic. Since it was supposed to be 'cute girl anime, but with boys' they made it a rule that no women are allowed to appear in the show at all. It's just about five high school boys who are forced to fight against evil using the power of 'love'.

It gets pretty fucking gay (though it tries to keep those aspects ironic). Each episode shows a character of the week going through an inner turmoil before learning to love themselves, or features a male relationship dynamic that they both pole fun at and show respect towards, some of which are kind of unheard of in America.

For instance, one character is obsessed with money, so he decides to stop fighting crime with the other magical boys. One of the other magical boys is an utterly useless human being and really relies on that first magical boy for pretty much everything, and he lashes out in anger trying to prove he can do things on his own, but ultimately he just can't. The first magical boy returns, feeling that he has this obligation to his friend to help push him through these sorts of situations, to be his big brother type.

It's not as serious as I may have described it, but it is a really fun dynamic. Unlike most TV and movies, these friendships actually play off of each other in the show and are actually an important part of each character's progression. In America we don't really see that, male friendships are just an excuse to have characters exploring largely unrelated plot-points.
