Not so much from marketing types. No personal offense intended, but they usually lead with the vision and "Pie-in-the-Sky" as that is their wheelhouse. Normally, those who have a business focus would ask for investors as part of the initial discussion.

The initial "pitch" would be less of a "give me money via GoFundMe" and more of a "I'm looking for an investment with a xxx return if this is successful..." or "xxx equity in the business." Your pitch was closer to some of the female dating profiles on r/WhereAreAllTheGoodMen.

If I'm the money, my first question will be "What's in it for me?" We all would love to see this succeed (and recognize the need). But you must provide a solid reason to donate other than charity. At least a charity will earn a write-off on my taxes. These kinds of opportunities are veritable black holes. I'm not downing or pissing on your project. Just trying to get you to look at it from the money side. We're heading into tough economic times. Every dollar is valuable.

Good luck. I hope you kaizen your approach and get this off the ground.
