My 2 cents is that she had some genuine interest in you, but something got lost in translation ie you did not notice she was with the waiter and made a too direct and open move.

Probably we will never know if she did that just for validation or because she was also making a thought about some action, but who cares? In my view, you did right: your interest was mild, you easily talked yourself out of the situation and went on with your business anyway.

Also, if the boyfriend is not totally stupid he understands that a guy does not randomly walk into a girl to invite her over without any hints from her side. Up to him on how to play it with his girlfriend. Personally, I would dump her with no explanations, because I am radical on these issues, but up to him really.

As to intimacy, I am with you. The issue is just not getting wasted by the system. I respect who goes monk mode (I went as well a couple of times in my life, to refocus on my own priorities), but if one wants to have some intimacy with willing and consensual women without getting caught in unwanted situations (eg LTR etc) why not?

My view of women is that when it comes to LTR, hypergamy, children etc they all function less or more the same way (ie AWALT), but on a personal level many of them are also nice persons and decent human beings so if one wants to hang out with one of these, making it clear it is just about having fun, why not?

I mean, clearly there are crazy ones out there, but they are easily recognisable and avoidable after all with a tiny bit of social skills.

About building a family, however, I am skeptical for all the good reasons we all know about. The concept of a real family with roles (ie man as provider and protector, woman as mother and wife etc) clashes with the current structure of society.

So, in my humble view the only reason for having one is to have children if one wants them. But that’s the only reasonable outcome one can take out of that: a child, no more. And it is all a matter of resources, that is if you have money and want it to be invested in a child then good, do it. Less money for retirement, insane amounts of money spent in crazy things like refurbishing the house every now and then for no reason, driving a SUV rather than a convertible etc. It goes down to resources: if one has them and wants to have a child instead than, say, a boat, then be it.

It being understood that, in all likelihood, that child above will be the only remaining thing, as the woman will either go away, branch swing, cheat or simply stop fucking you because those little guys swimming in your semen already did the magic of creating life and she now needs no more (at least from you).

With money, one can set things up in a way not to be divorce raped. Eg set up a trust for the benefit of the child and yourself, put money there and have it invested, keep your finances separated from the mother’s and don’t marry (yeah yeah I know about common law marriage, in that case just move where that thing does not apply). Don’t marry ever.

You will end up with a plan B (which is plan A actually) up and running and with control of your own money. You split up when the kid is still underage? Well, if you love your kid paying child support is not an issue and, with money, you will probably end up willing to pay more than what the Court would award, so if the mother is not total batshit crazy (and, again, the crazy ones should be avoided at all times) she will not even want to go to court and will accept your money and your condition to be allowed to see the kid anytime you want.

Anyway: avoiding crazy ones? At all time, always. Getting laid once in a while? If consensual, being clear that it is just fun and no prospects of LTR/marrying etc, why not? Having a child? Yes, with resources and willing to invest a significant part of them into said child. Not a good income and willing to have a child? Probable failure. Willing to have a traditional family? No way regardless of income, because society now is just not compatible with that. Marrying? Never. Going your own way? Always.

Thanks bro. Everyone, regardless of gender, is really free to choose and I do respect your choice because to me it is a manifestation of freedom and shows a man who has a direction and is in charge of his life, which is what I like most about the MGTOW philosophy.

When the young woman I was hanging out with got pregnant (yeah yeah, old story of saying she was on the pill while she actually wasn’t) she was decent enough to say that keeping the baby or not was a joint choice, so I was in front of a big decision.

I was in my early 40s at the time and doing ok, nice fat income, very low expenses and some good investments already underway so I looked at myself in the mirror and told myself why not.

So, got us a house (rented, rent paid with the proceeds of my other investments, reason is that legally if she throws me out what she gets is child support + right to be first name on the rent, but she would need to pay for the rent, while if the house were my property she would get same child support + right to live in the house free of charge), bought furniture (this was somewhat expensive, given my frugal past lifestyle), did not marry, kept finances and bank accounts separated and never ever disclosed how much I earn.

She wanted to continue working, so I had to hire a nanny and increased my other expenses a lot, but this is still doable and I am still able to save monthly a good percentage of my income.

As expected, she changed from a wild sex craving animal to a solipsistic catholic nun in zero time. Clearly, she did not like my way of settling things and hoped to tie the knot and get control over me and my resources, which I just didn’t accept. She still gets a good life, large apartment in the city centre, nice holidays etc, but I think she resents that the centre of this all is not her, but the child (and yes, he is mine, got the test done) and she feels somewhat diminished.

So, what conclusion? Did I do the right thing or did I sacrifice myself for the needs of a woman who is as AWALT as any other? In my view, it is a matter of perspective: when I look at my son I feel proud of his progress. He is smart as fuck, tall (for his age), super handsome. I taught him to swim, I taught him English (not our first language), maths (he is a genius at that), to ride a bike and all the things a father is supposed to teach his son. I am building a relationship with him and I am as present as I can given my job.

Did I do the right thing? And the answer is subjective of course. For me, I did. I am happy like this. I see it as investing in my son and into a bond between him and me which will survive any downturn I might face. Something which goes beyond what materialistic stuff I can provide and is rooted into the genetics of a (hopefully) functioning dad and his kid who, again hopefully, will grow up and face life with the necessary tools to navigate a world of clowns and crazy, with the ability (yeah, again hopefully) to live his life and take his own decisions freely and with self awareness.

My costs: well, raising a child is as expensive as buying a house nowadays. I have been lucky because my job took off. Honestly, I have worked a lot to have my career, but there is always an element of luck of course.

Also: no sex within the relationship and, probably, she is seeing somebody else. Am I sad or pissed off? Not at all. Again, she is a decent person and she is nice to be with generally when she forgets feminism for a while. She is also honest and she cares. I tend to think that women come in all sorts and that a number of them are good persons. Sure, all of them obey the rules of hypergamy, Briffaults law and suchlike and society nowadays is all in their favor. Yet, she is not crazy and is a good mother all in all, which is what I just need. She is not my woman, it was just my turn and it is fine as it is, for me.

And, yeah, I know the next question: what about lack of sex? Well, the world is wide and with age it gets progressively easier to find some fun, to the extent one wants it.

Anyway, sorry for writing this much. Probably one of my many issues is that I write way too much because I get fond of my argument while I go. Just wanted to contribute a perspective that MGTOW may be a number of different things and may work differently depending of each man. For me, it is not about avoiding women at all, but putting myself first. Also, recognising those who are crazy / damaged etc and steering a good berth away from them. These crazy ones are those that third wave feminism totally brainwashed and whom I avoid at all costs. Some others, however, still use their brain and still can be decent persons. Yes, AWALT works also for them so I see no reason to devote my life to a woman, as she will never be MY woman, it will still be just my turn. But with this in mind, women are no more dangerous than many other things in life: if you know how the green/yellow/red rule works, a traffic lamp is not dangerous. If you ignore this rule, you risk your life at any crossing.

My 2 cents of course and in no way intended to disrespect anybody who thinks otherwise (or who thinks that I am a verbose asshole, which is probably even true).
