Rust is not a hobby sir.

Ah. Yes. Sorry. This is Jeff Miller’s truck. Premier Galil builder in the US. The rifle? Mine.

I don't have a "fancy" car. I have a muscle car and a truck.. The muscle car I always keep it as clean as possible cause it's who I am. Keeping things clean and in good shape.. also cars is one of my main hobbies...Nothing wrong with keeping it shiny lol...Myabe I should man up and be a "realz mgtow " and let it collect dirt and dust 😂

Epic burn!

I’d like to know your scale of “epic” ness...
[–]ck_19910 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Oh c'mmon even you have to agree the whole rust bit was funny.

I don't know why but guns make me extremely nervous. Like drugs. I have never even touched a real gun or drugs in real life. I am 27 btw.
[–]Marmoset54 8 points9 points10 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
If they make you nervous and you would like to conquer that fear and discover the ultimate glee that comes from pulling the trigger and the later glee of hearing the round bing off the target, look into your local NRA chapter.
The NRA (and gun guys in general) are more than happy to show you the ropes. Strength in numbers. Just make sure you bring the ammo!

This.

You'd enjoy it, sir. Concentration and fine motor control are critical. The paper always tells the truth.

That's a perfectly natural feeling in a culture that is doing everything it can to demonize firearms. They are deadly weapons, after all, if used with sufficient skill they are capable of facilitating death. That is their utility. However, a few points need to be made: firearms do not on their own kill anyone, the person pulling the trigger does. Just like axes don't bury themselves in people skulls, or cars don't run down infants. It takes volition to effect an action.
Firearms are, at the end of the day, another tool, comparable to a power tool. Yes, they can be used contrary to moral considerations, but they enable far more good than harm.
If you are comfortable with feeling nervous about them, then remain so. However, if you'd like to overcome this unease concerning a very common and ubiquitous tool, then I would suggest learning to use and handle them. Search for and contact a local gun range, and see if they have classes.

Both are dangerous. However, in the right environment with a bit of training, guns can be super fun. If you can go to a range, give it a go if you're bored

Let me recommend drugs friend :) Seriously, check out some of the modern research coming out on using mushrooms to treat depression better than anti-depressants :)

Ah the Galil 5.56MM beautiful weapon. I used it when I was serving the National Army of Colombia. Heavy but gives a good pound on the enemy.
[–]Marmoset54 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Yes indeed! So you had the AR model, yes? Was it the “S” “A” “R” markings on the receiver?
Was there anyway to differentiate a Colombian AR export vs other AR exports?
Currently collecting parts for Vektor R4 and R5 build...
[–]WolfUbuntu1171 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
I think I did. I think we only used them while other stations migrated to the M16. I was like "This will do " then went Far Cry 5 style. Not sure about parts or exports. M apologies
No worries! Thank you for the information.

The SAR! That’s beautiful!
I’m gathering the parts for an R5 clone right now...in fact...it’s about as much an R5 as an AK kit build is.
And then I was stupid and bought a Micro Galil kit...
[–]jigssaw1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (3 children) | Copy Link
Yep. They are pretty cheap here (actually the cheapest .223 rifle you can get) I was kind of suprised when I first got it to discover for how much they go for in the US ....
[–]Marmoset54 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (2 children) | Copy Link
Where is here.....?
[–]jigssaw1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Czech republic. I paid less then 500$ (excluding tax) for it like 2 years ago .... AR15s are considerably more expensive here.
[–]Marmoset54 0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Let’s not talk about how much Galil builds cost in the states...outta sight outta mind.
And the VZ58 outperforms the AK any day of the week...love that rifle.

I’m guessing your hobby is making other people work on shitty vehicles at gunpoint.

IMI galil ??
[–]Marmoset54 1 point2 points3 points 8 years ago (0 children) | Copy Link
Yep. Took advantage of Apex’s recent acquisition of the Galil ARM kits. 1:7 twist 18” barrel. Correct engravings and scope cut out.
[–]Zachjsrf0 points1 point2 points 8 years ago (1 child) | Copy Link
Is that a Galil?
It is! Galil ARM.
