Ok guys and gals(wouldn't want to be accused of being a toxic male now lmao)

Quick question,

So recently I(33m) have been doing a lot of self reflection and analysis, and have discovered that the biggest drain on my resources and time is my mother. We have literally nothing in common, she stays at home all day with my step dad (who has no fight left in him at all), all she does is play bingo and watch reruns of shows on TV, whereas I ride motorbikes work hard and am hardly ever home(my own place not the family house).

I have noticed a trend that she only ever texts me if she wants something, which is mainly money. Growing up we never had anything, and had to bust our balls to get anything, but over the last 2 ISH decades she has become very lazy, she asks for money and sometimes pays it back sometimes doesn't, I am currently £1000 in the hole with her.

My logic tells me to just cut all ties with her, meaning I have no family as I have already cut ties with my sister, but then the other side says she's family I shouldn't be so harsh,

Has anyone been in this situation, and if so what did you do? Or if you haven't been in this situation what would you do? Any advice would be welcome
