Help me out, guys. I need some advice.
So the ex wife (known lovingly as "the cunt" in my inner dialog) just texted me. It seems the now-adult bastard child I raised as my own got herself into a bit of a pickle. The ex is asking me for advice on how her daughter can best work through this particular pickle.
Ok, so my first issue is that I want no fucking contact from this woman. EVAR. Unless one of the kids is literally incapacitated (coma, in surgery, that sort of thing) and is incapable of contacting me, I would just as soon never hear from her ever again.
But what really rustles my jimmies is the fact that she has the fucking gall to ask for my support (however minor) after she discarded me the way she did. And it's simply because she can -- she'll always be able to count on the more rational, financially able/stable one (me) to look out for her spawn. Because I will, because I love my kids.
I really wish I was at the stage where I could give zero fucks and be all Kung Fu Caine zen about shit like this. The elevated heart rate and blood pressure rise certainly isn't doing me any favors.
I get how blue pill dudes can go along with this kind of thing. Red pill guys? How do you deal with shit like this and not go nuclear every time your ex leans on you for anything?
My instinct is to hotly respond with something like "just have her call me for advice, and please fuck off and never contact me again unless she's in real danger". But that doesn't seem rational.
Edit: "manbaby" lol! So I've had a productive talk with the kid, and all is good. Still ignoring the ex. Kids know to contact me directly for help/advice from now on.

Radio silence sounds safer than an angry rant of a response.

I'm surprised and disappointed at the fucking stupid advice in this thread. Are you considered a legal guardian of this person? If not, then you are not "being a man" by stepping in and cleaning up the mess of someone else's kid, especially "the cunt" that left you out to hang. I dont give a fuck how much of a "bond" you have created. It. Is. Not. Your. Kid. Grow a pair and tell the mom to get fucked, it's not your problem. If you are legally responsible for the kid in some way, then that's a different story.
You already realize you fucked up by getting with someone with their own kid. They will use that relationship you built with that kid to manipulate you as long as you allow it. Cut your fucking losses man, tell this bitch to fix her own shit and to leave you alone. Cold hearted? Maybe. The smart correct thing to do? Absolutely.

Both the stepchild and biological child are over 18 now. As I was married to the mother for 15 years, I was around for the majority of their childhood years and still have a decent relationship with both.
That said, I am also surprised by the "be a man" phrasing in this thread. But at the same time, I have trouble by some of the indifference towards the kid. Sure, fuck the mother, but why completely cut the kids out?
It's one thing to not give material support. I have no intention of throwing money at their problems. If either totally fucks up their life, I have an open door policy for providing food and shelter while they get their shit in order. But due to the way the mother was regarding money, I have no substantial savings or nest egg in my 40's like I should, so I won't be making any huge financial sacrifices now to assist the kids in life. No college fund, no bankrolling a wedding, no assist with a home down payment -- nothing that a financially normal middle aged dude should be capable of. And I'll tell the kids when it's appropriate, that due to their parent's choices, I won't be able to provide in that way.
Anyway, I've rambled enough.

How you respond now will set precedent for future interactions. Step-child has a flat tire, calls The Cunt, calls you. Are you okay with that for the rest of your life?
Establish your boundaries. Don't be a Mr. Nice Guy. You don't owe either of these people anything, they only care about you so long as you have some utility for them to exploit.
Script your response. Keep control over your emotions, control the call, be prepared to hang up, and for the love of freedom record the call.
"Hi ----, I received your message. I cannot help ---- at this time. Good luck. click"
Don't say sorry, don't get emotional, don't play into her game by allowing her to respond (it'll be a guilt trip), and don't pick up when she calls back.
Edit: formatting.

I've decided to simply ignore the message. If she comes back with an attitude, I'll say something like, "You wanted me out of your life. Good luck with that."

She was a literal bastard, and not mine. I still love her like my own.
I won't apologize for using inflammatory language.

This could make an interesting topic in its own right. Are you suggesting that step kids aren't worthy of the same love and compassion as biological offspring?

No lying. I made the mistake of marrying a single mother. I raised her for 15 years. I just wish she'd put on her big girl pants and ask me for help directly and cut the cunt out of the loop entirely.
