Asked this question on some subs but apparently they can't handle it. What your take guys?
When I think of our social culture of the independent woman, sexual revolution towards open deviancy, and general rebellion of the former paradigm of their roles in society, I cant help but to think, "Why now?"
Of course women depended on men in the caveman days, but we haven't been cavemen for a long time. Women today express their ability to be independent, sexually free, and capability of meeting the same achievements as men. So why wasn't this defection innate? Why didn't they contribute in the construction of modern civilization as equals to begin with? Why did they let "The Patriarchy" evolve without the same type of vitriol and engagement towards their own imperative as they do now?
The women of today's society were socialized the same way women in history were. They are taught to be submissive. But the worldwide defection of that standard is relatively new. Of course cultures progresses over time, but why wasn't this the default social response to whatever oppressions they felt. Why didn't they commune to create their own social orders, why did they seemingly wait so long to take autonomy in their participation towards different industries and fields?
Men were never socialized like the women are of this next upcoming generation. Men weren't ever told "You can achieve anything" we learn early on that we are meaningless until we compete to prove otherwise. Any form of authority that men had over women before we still have now. If there was a major collusion to oppress we are still just as capable as before. Saudi Arabia and similar cultures still exist. We are still genetically superior. We remain assertive towards our imperatives. Women are still just as aware of this.
What changed where women of before accepted and sometimes even embraced their former roles, to the absolute erosion of the standard of submission and complimentary relations? They say revolutions happen when a populace feels as if they have no other choice. So is there a distinct reversal point that pushed things over the edge?
