I hate the “You must have been hurt badly by someone in the past” argument because that’s not alway the case. Some people experience this from a 3rd person perspective, like parents or friends’ parents. Others just come to the conclusion that meeting a girl, moving in, getting married and having kids isn’t worth breaking your back over because it’s likely to end in divorce.

A long-winded version of the "whole hurt you" argument.

I can't speak for everyone here, but I was never seriously fucked over or hurt by a woman. The two women I had the longest relationships with, I honestly have nothing bad to say about (other than typical stuff women do). I experienced what relationships are like and I made the decision not to buy what women are selling.

One of the key things to understand about MGTOW and redpills is that it's about statistics. Again, I don't speak for everyone but I truly don't think every single woman is a psychotic, cheating, sociopathic, manipulative bitch. But statistically they have certain tendencies that they are likely to exhibit. Additionally, the general culture and setup of relationships and male/female interactions has moved to place that I do not like. I'm not going to list specifics, because there are numerous factors and issues. If you're curious enough, they've been discussed frequently on this sub.

To put it as simple as possible, I just don't feel that the costs and risks associated with a relationship are worth the benefits. That's really what it comes down to for a lot of the posters here.

I hate the "you must have been hurt" argument because EVERYONE has been hurt in a relationship at least once. This argument seems to say that we are dwelling in our hurt and don't have the capability to move on. We do have the capability to move on, but we don't just move on, we're men, we want to LEARN what hurt us and why to avoid it again.

If you touch a hot stove and it burns you, you don't hate the stove and all stoves, you just learn that a stove can hurt you. But yet, you still aren't scared to use the stove, you just learn how to handle it and which parts of it can hurt you.

I think the people that use the "you must have been hurt" argument don't have the capability to expand on that. These are the people that can go "that hurt but I've over it" without learning anything from it and end up doing it again. Back to my stove analogy, someone might say "not all stoves are like that". And we're saying all stoves have the capability to hurt you, and we've now learned what it is about the stove that hurts us and start spreading the word to not touch a hot stove top and then people keep coming around going "get over it, not all stoves are like that" when in fact, it is the nature of the stove to get hot and if you're not careful about how you use the stove it will hurt you. And we also understand it's not the stoves fault. Just like it's not a females fault. It's the nature of the thing.

I don't hate women, I hate the way they behave. But that's like hating a retarded kid for being retarded. They can't help it. But that doesn't mean we have to put up with it, keep going back for more, or that we're not allowed to spread the word about what it can and will most likely do if you play with one long enough.

Furthermore, the old saying goes "necessity is the mother of invention". The necessity to avoid as much pain as possible has led to the study and discussion of women. It started with a hypothesis and now there's a theory. A theory is something that can't exactly be proven but paints a pretty good picture of why a thing seems to be a certain way. We accept that gravity exists. We can measure it and make predictions about what happens when you come into contact with it. All signs seem to indicate that it's the mass of an object that bends space and time so things are pulled towards it, but in reality things are falling towards it. Not being PULLED towards it. But again, this is just a theory based on observations. It's not proven without a shadow of a doubt that is what's happening. And there have been many theories before it that didn't think it was a warping of space and time, but that's the most logical based on the perceivable and repeatable evidence but we can't actually SEE gravity (the warping of space and time) so anyone is welcome to put forth another theory, it's just that THIS theory is the best we have, not an absolute because it only works on the large scale. At the quantum (small) level , this all changes. Does that mean we throw out the whole theory? Of course not, because it works at the level that is most important to us humans as we are part of the large and most of the time it's so predictable that it's pretty much a law even though it really isn't. It's like the NAWALT. The VAST majority of the time and relatively speaking AWALT. We accept that there might actually be a NAWALT, because we can't prove there isn't a NAWALT.

However, testing to see if there's a NAWALT is one of the best ways to see that AWALT. And it's amazing, once you know what to look for, you see AWALT everywhere.

Just like, every time I see a stove, I know it can hurt me so I'll check to see if it's on or had recently been on (this only takes nano seconds in the brain now because of practice) and assuming it IS hot has now become the better approach than assuming it isn't.

Hell, I've got this so down to a science I see it everyday. I can just say HI to a woman and usually within a few seconds I see, oh shit, there it is! It's a HOT STOVE! AWALT! Do Not Touch.

Further to this, they see that I see and they freak the fuck out because they can't hide anymore! OMG this makes them SO MAD. They want to destroy you when you can see this! They have lost their only weapon! Then they hamster and try to make it out like you are playing them to try and get them when it's completely the opposite! I want to get the fuck away but they can't believe you actually don't want them, it destroys their ego. They think it's because we don't find them attractive physically or because they have a kid in tow or whatever, but it's just me going HOLY SHIT AWALT, RUN! What she looks like and the kid in tow helps paint the picture, but it's all in the eyes!

AWALT is the idea that, in some way, all women hold certain tendencies in common. What you describe as specifically having to do with BPD women (id argue m/f alike in relationships), is something that id say the majority of women do to lesser extents.

relationship begins and goes into 'the honeymoon stage'. Arguments rarely occur and the relationship most revolves around physical attraction and the initial intimate bond of having a new romantic partner. This new ability to share feelings and reciprocate emotion is the driving force that propels relationships into future success or future failure.

The problem today, is that most (if not all) western women have grown up into a world that has sculpted them into horrible relationship material. From a young age. To be fair, the term should be EWALT (enough women are like this) but that doesn't have the same ring to it.

The fact of the matter is this: I do not bet with my money, so why should/would I bet with my time/life. About 45%-55% of marriages (depending on citation) end in divorce. Rest assured, that number has been going up every year, and it simply is no longer worth it. I would much rather save my money, and work on MYSELF. Retire in my mid 50s, and live a life of fulfillment.

I think that a portion maybe 10% or 20% might have been effected by such a person, but there are also people here who came due to their MOTHER. Not even been in their first relationship and they decided single is the way to go. Then divorce happens to 80% of the Millennials and quite a few members here were victims of such a process. So unless you think 80% of the population has BDP I'd wager that there's more to it. Of course just because you were in a divorce doesn't mean you'll be 100% MGTOW but I do find it worth thinking about BPD relationships. I was like that with my second relationship, while the first never had a devaluation phase.

But generally speaking it was more like at least I found someone who I can stand. They seemed good at first. But as time went on I realized that there were alot of things that weren't really matching up. It's like going to a store and you see all those nice things once you buy something and go home you start noticing cracks, and even realize you can't use it. Like a nice painting, was nice at first, but now you see it chipping away.
