Men usually tend to rotate their clothes where women will throw a hissy fit if they cant buy new outfits all the time.

Thats one of the reasons they're always in debt. Trying hard to look good and better in the eyes of other women.

I'll take my 2-3 decent pairs of jeans and rotate my shirts.

Most guys who buy expensive clothes without realistically being able to afford them just do it for female attention.

I know because I used to be one of those suckers with a tommy hilfiger shirt collection and buying overpriced shit made in turkey in order to look sexy at the club chasing pussy.

What a fool I was and what a complete waste of time and money.

PS. You can buy really nice and good looking clothes for a fracture of the money you usually have to spend on "designer" bs.

I was with a woman for 6 years and all the relationship did was make me depressed. I was depressed because she would always say how much she needs. A detached house, nice car, expensive gadgets (iphones and shit), of course all that girly cosmetic/clothes stuff every week, travelling and basically stuff, stuff, stuff and pics for facebook.

Man was I depressed, her dreams were impossible in the economy that we lived in and with her having no lucrative skills, unless she got heavily in debt.

And me? Yeah, I've got 2 pairs of jeans, some tshirts, sweaters etc. I don't need that much stuff. I work and I mostly wear some work clothes for most of the week. On the weekends I'll just chill and have some drinks. I can save a lot of money quickly and I don't need a managerial position for that. No stress, no responsibility, just great life overall. I recently bought a 100$ Xiaomi and it's fuckin' great! The battery lasts like 4 days! I'm probably going to have it for a few years as usual. Why would I ever want an iPhone for 700$? And a new one every year. Wtf.

However, throughout my life I would feel the pressure and some contempt that I don't need THINGS, THINGS AND THINGS. And travelling and all that high-life bullshit. It's as if I was some kind of worse, limited etc. And all that from people who wouldn't be able to read a book if their life depended on it. People are insane.

Man how I'm glad it's over, no wonder I was depressed, I was basically looking at enslaving myself for the rest of my life to have more "stuff." And maybe some sex. Totally not worth it.

It really is liberating. I've been studying Stoic and Cynic philosophies and they dovetail quite nicely with MGTOW. I now chuckle at the peacocks strutting their feathers. I used to be one of them. The only way to win that game is to not play.

Having, for the most part, avoided LTRs and female drama, focusing instead on self-improvement, I am on the verge of retirement at a (relatively) young age. If you live modestly and work hard, it's achievable.

Definitely clothes. Clothes are the #1 social status signaler for women. But also cars and apartments/houses and decor. Almost all of us have been brain-fucked by our hormones into blowing excess money on those when attractive women are around.

I will admit that I have been after material things for all of my adulthood...I'm 28 now.

That being said, after being MGTOW for about 2 years now, I have had a decline in things I want. There are things I would love to have (and I get/collect those things), but I am admittedly happy with the clothes I have, my dream truck (it is my biggest investment at $7.5k while some people my age are paying $30k+ on a new car for many years), and my media/game systems/electronics. I can live quite minimally. Once I pay my truck off (I'm living in it now), I can save dramatically quickly for my own land/housing. I'm eyeing a tiny home. Enough space for just me, my books, my movies, my video games, and my needy decor (movie/game posters and stuff signed by musicians I met).

yes, all the advertisements. the female attention you get. you get tired of it, and then after awhile you want it. we fluctuate. ust accept it as it is i guess. its just like drugs anyway, buy something and feel accomplished. so if you do it or you dont either way it doesnt matter. of course saving is ALWAYS better.

When i was 18 i probably would have loved to have a luxury car or a rolex but now at 25 working as a corporate cog and understanding materialism and how the economy works I've sort of stopped caring about all of that. Financial independence is my primary goal now.

im plotting my new life. it begins mid next year, when family circumstances are taken care of. ill have no debt and around 75k in the bank. everything I own im giving away or selling. except the clothes I'm wearing and my car. once I arrive at my new home im buying seven black tshirts, 2 black jeans, 10 pairs of socks, one pair of boots, one leather jacket...you get the picture. only essential plain things ill need always.

also going to make a 'go bag'.

I am sure you already know this but whatever you own that has mechanical parts (ie vacuum cleaner, car, etc) you can always find forums and youtube videos that show you how to repair and replace components.

I've gone through the same thing. I had a day in which everything clicked for me. It was such an overwhelming rage. I have never been so angry in my life. The next I got up feeling completely different. I just didn't care. Once I stopped caring, my fears and insecurities vanished. All I wear is black t-shirts and black or gray sweatpants. Black sneakers all the time. My car's paint job has gone to shit. Like it or not, to some degree getting women influences our behavior and thus creates insecurities. Once you best that, the IDGAF attitude just comes in. I want for nothing. I got my laptop, game consoles, a home gym, and that's all I need and want. Sure, I'll buy some new game when it catches my interest but that's it. I only by new shoes when the current ones go to shit. I buy and read comics. DGAF who thinks if I'm being childish or whatever. I work out because I want to. DGAF what women think. I'm out the Rat Race and it feels good.

Looking back on it, it's ridiculous. At one point, none of us have cars. Then in HS, guys have cars and status. IF you lack both, you're screwed. By the time you get a car, everyone has cars. But of course your car isn't nice enough. You lose again. Then you have to work harder to get a nicer car. Got an Acura? Cool. This guy has a Corvette. Drive a Camry? Who are you? Got a job making 3 grand a month? Okay. This guy and that guy and this guy in the corner make that in one week. What's that? You work out? Bench 230 lbs? Nice. This guy benches 300+ and has a rock hard 6 pack and a bigger chest and a nicer car. Guess what? Time to work even harder. Good in the sack? Great. This guy has a bigger dick and fucked your girl so good she tapped out from the orgasms. Time to step your game up.

It never fucking ends. And if you aren't good enough, you end up working even harder after you get the girl because she thinks she's a God and deserves her own planet. Chad Thundercock makes 6 figures? You just lost again. Fuck the Rat Race.

For me it's more a case of finding my purpose in life. I found I had a true passion for dance and music, so I bought the equipment necessary and haven't been needing anything since. I got a sponsorship from a company so I get free clothes anyway XD

We don't need so much ordinary stuff. No need to upgrade the furnishings until they are really bust, no need to have the latest models of stuff that still works about the home.

However if you talking about scuba gear I definitely need that. I'm not a minimalist but I can see the attraction up to a point.

I never was materialistic and only got pushed in that direction by my ex wife who always wanted wanted wanted. It never ended with her. I finally told her she was being foolish trying to cure her mental confusion/depression/unease with stuff rather than mental work. She didn't like that.

Now I'm 4+ years into living in my own house and I don't buy shit unless I need it. No one pressuring me to always upgrade. It's beautiful.
