I was banned from there too. They get triggered quick. I responded to a query where a guy wanted to know what to think of his new gf who had over 130 partners before him. I was pretty benign. I just said that an increase in partners showed a statistical probability correlation to a failed marriage. I advised that the relationship was probably fine as bf/gf but that he should hit the pause button on a marriage.
Got banned, not for the comment, they couldn't refute that, they tried to tell me it was 'number shaming' which is a crock of bull crap, so they then said I was banned because I frequent the MGTOW sub.
Total bigotry on their part.

Seriously, if your concern is about the PERSON who posted the thread (rather than trying to make a public statement) then a PM (even unsolicited) is likely to have just as much of a positive effect (in fact arguably it is MORE LIKELY to "work" to the end you intend -- especially if it is properly phrased* -- if only because it CAN'T get [removed] by some moderator).
* EDIT: i.e. like begin the PM message with "I know you were soliciting open advice, but I also know that the advice I feel is most important is likely to be 'censored' and that is..." -- and then follow with what you wanted to share: points, links, (whatever). The person is obviously free to entirely ignore your message, to reply or even to "block user" if they don't want to hear it... OR, they just MIGHT take it to heart, at least think on it; and moreover possibly even realize that the REST of the advice that they get (that they are ALLOWED by the "moderators" to get) in the thread, will all be heavily tilted/skewed/biased in one direction -- and THAT by itself can make your "private" advice far more weighty.

Welcome to the club. I was banned from r/sex because I mentioned how too many sexual partners can destroy a person's ability to pair-bond. This was in response to the posting person asking for advice on how to be "serious" about her supposed LTR and that she felt her past was haunting her. All i said was, "If you're serious, you need to be serious, because continuing down the path of your past will hurt your ability to pair bond in the future."
Got into an argument with a moderator there; shot her down at every point. Frankly it was worth it to see her get all 'tard on me.
