I think there are, at a given moment in time, unicorn-type women. It seems she has to feel like you're out of her league and be strongly attracted to you in order to treat you well though.

But! As I saw someone post recently, women are a lot more malleable than us. They change, a lot, to fit the situation, like water in a container. They're much more fluid (probably a survival adaptation since they can't fight as well, so just go with the flow).

I think a unicorn only exists at a certain point in time, when the environment is a certain way. They can so easily have their horn removed and turn into a cow.

Things that can do this are: Any change in you - including physical, mental, emotional, social, sexual etc. An emotional or hormonal change in her. Bad influences from her friends. Ideological influences like feminism. A relative change between your and her financial status. Illness affecting you or her. Or a change in environment like moving to a new place, from country to city, city to country, school to university/college, university/college to employment etc. Marriage. Kids.

I have seen pretty good unicorny women (including my ex-gf and my mother) quickly turn into the complete opposite of a unicorn due to some of those things. In both cases, influence from friends played a huge part. In the case of my last relationship, a lot changed for both of us.

But that isn't what people tend to mean by a unicorn. They mean a woman who truly deeply loves you and fights by your side when you're having a rough time (rather than branch swing away). A woman who loves your deep character rather than your surface characteristics.

That unicorn, I have never seen any evidence of in my life. They must be so rare as to not be worth looking for, if they do exist.

There are women who will treat you very well under the right conditions, but not indefinitely and not reliably. We must not marry or have kids with those women because they will most likely change and we must be ready to leave, or let them leave, without being financially or emotionally ruined by it.

My advice on this is to enjoy them while they're good (if you truly want to) but be prepared for breaking up at any time. And if she stops treating you how you want to be treated, don't hang on waiting for her to change back or try to save it.

I've got one of those interested in me right the fuck now, but I am aware that if I proceed she will tend to become hard to control and is smart enough that gaming her is hard and will only get harder as she ages.

She's uncommon, but not unicorn-rare and it's STILL a poor idea to engage. You don't understand AWALT if you think this hypothetical disproves it.

If I fail to give her a good dicking, she leaves or cheats, "good woman or not".

If I can't make her respect me through my job/vocation/etc then she leaves or cheats.

The thing that makes women AWALT isn't their current traits, it is the fact that they will all respond to external inputs in a predictable fashion; the DEGREE to which they resist ill behavior varies, but they are all capable of evil.

So, AWALT.

If she makes more, that confers higher status on her and puts her beyond your reach as a mate. Women want men with higher status. That is why affirmative action has played holy hell with the sexual marketplace.

You have just admitted you are a fool. No man looks at a woman's physical appearance, wallet size, and apparent work ethic and thinks "Wow she's the real deal, no other quality about her matters, she's a unicorn for sure".

She may be a unicorn from a mile away, and she maybe a donkey with a carrot tied around its snout from 5 feet away.

live separately

There is no true unicorn, but there are a few out there that might be close enough.
