Your privilege is not an unfair advantage that bestowed upon you solely based on your immutable bodily characteristics.

Your privilege was earned through the sacrifice and hard work of your past self, your parents, your teachers, and your mentors.

Your advantage was that you had the opportunity to be raised with good values and morals. With an appreciation of learning, education, and an carefully nurtured life-long hunger for more knowledge. With a want for continuous self-improvement.

You should never feel guilt or shame for having had these opportunities and capitalising on them.

Instead, we should show gratitude for what we were given, and gratitude to our past selves for making the right choices in life, and gratitude for the suffering we endured when we made the wrong choices.

Never let anyone guilt and shame you for reaping the fruits of your labour.
