I must be watching a different set of stocks. The problem with so much cash is that inflation eats that away. The average inflation rate over the past few years is 2%. That means all that cash is worth 2% less each year.

I have half mine in a large cap growth index fund. It's making a killing. The other half is in a moderately aggressive stock-bond blend. I moved into large cap growth when Trump became president. That's what he does, helps big business. With the lower corporate taxes and trade wars, it's making a killing. I'll be moving out of large cap growth before he leaves the white house, then I retire early.

If I'm wrong, my 401k has lived through 2 recessions. A third recession just means I'll have to work a few years more. On the other hand, look at large cap growth index funds over the past 10 years. This started under Obama. Trump is pushing it along harder.

In 2007 or 2008 CFO magazine polled a bunch of chief financial officers at major companies around the globe. The majority said they see a recession in the next 12 to 18 months. They were right. Has anyone seen a similar poll recently?

I would say invest in make-up companies. I would imagine sales would go up seeing how escort services will be booming when women are laid from their jobs.

I don't think the Fed will let it crash but having seen gold and silver rocket, I believe they are inflating the money supply. Buy gold/silver

Average recession drops the market 30+ percent. And it will take a couple years at least to get thru.

And thats assuming we're not going to get a depression instead, which I think is far more likely.
