It’s plausible and possible but my theory:

Since Tencent, a huge China conglomerate of commie China purchase a large share of reddit, about 10% they are trying to silence political outs peak that supports orange man.

Orange man have fucked China with sanctions in the trade war and thus they really want to remove him.

So sway that sub reddit since they don’t support their political outlook.

mgtow really don’t affect China interests thus we will be ignored.

Of course I may be wrong but just my hunch

American Election Year
The current democratic field is an absolute shit show. On top of it, the "Elect a Woman at Any Cost" strategy is crashing to the earth in a ball of flames.
The hype-cycle press has anticipated people getting numb to Coronavirus COVID-19 news and has now jumped on the bandwagon of covering "subversive" subreddits like r/The_Donald, r/wallstreetbets, and r/MGTOW. You can bet your sweet ass that subs like r/GenderCritical and r/FemaleDatingStrategy will be ignored by these sources.
We are reaching a critical mass of pushback against cancel culture, wokeism, gynocentrism, and the like. They're realizing that they may indeed be fighting an increasingly unpopular battle. Silencing dissent is their last, desperate tool in the quiver. If their position was strong (or even defensible), they would simply let the debate take things where they went. Instead, they are engaging in a campaign of censorship.

All of this happened much quicker than I thought it would. I thought we would be well into the mid-2020's before the book burning and arresting of dissidents began on the Intarwebz. No matter what happens here, these moves signal fear and weakness.

Mgtow will probably just be ignored. But if it happens. I say mods should nuke the sub at the second point. Better this sub goes down the way it is now than turn into a cuck festival.

I'd guess their long term plan is to pander to women. Oprah started in poverty and turned herself into a billionaire by pandering to womens' egos. And women are the majority consumers of all social media. So anything that offends a woman's childish ego must be suppressed, censored, deleted.
