This is feelgood nonsense. I think men commit suicide because they can't bear another day in pain. I try to at least respect that by not completely disregarding their pain or by being more pain.

Ask for help if you want help. The pain might be possible to end without you ending too.

Another BS post bent on keeping the man a good wage slave on the plantation. That is the real reason women are concerned about male suicide.

What isn't well known is that many of them realize all of their problems are solvable.

Unless the man saw a divorce rape etc coming, in many cases it gets to the point where for all practical purposes it isn't solvable.

There is a solution to your problems, it just might not be obvious.

You should look for possible solutions in all areas but in some cases there is no solution. Case in point Robin Williams.

History is overflowing with men who rose victorious over insurmountable odds.

History only records men who win. History doesn't record the men that lose. Suicide or what would be termed now as euthernasian, a mercy killing by his fellow man. So history doesn't record the mercy killings or suicides that where done on the battle field. Men who where too fucked up, they usually begged to be killed.

I must admit, my view is colored by a friend who took his own life. It was, as near as we could tell, over his girlfriend. I'm not sure what happened, but they weren't engaged, no pregnancy, none of that. Somehow she drove him to eat a bullet, when all he needed to do was kick her to the curb.

Sometimes suicide is all there is. Those historical men only resulted in the shitty world we have now. No, you can't do likewise. No, good things don't happen. Nothing can be solved because all the problems are eternally recurring. The only thing people need is to be exterminated because all life is misery.

There is no help to ask for. There is only Eternal Misery. Samson Looms. What else is there but defeatism for the defeated?

I agree this is feel-good nonsense. Like other comments, you have every right to decide if the juice isn't worth the squeeze. Out of every single person who says "there's an answer" "suicide is so selfish" none of them has thrown in cash to help. None of these people step up to make someone going through pain feel loved. We all naturally avoid drama. You want to say this, then get up off Reddit and do something to help.

Time ticks on and sometimes things do get better. Lots of times they don't. Life just hasn't sucked hard enough for you or you haven't seen true enough pain so you can't possibly relate to someone who considers suicide a viable option. You're going to get there one day then you'll see. At some point it's about you having control over your life. Your suffering. How much that weighs against "life" and the pain you'll cause others by doing it.

Sometimes suicide is the answer when there is nothing left that you can do to solve your problems. Life can be a bitch and I don’t blame people for wanting out of this terrible game. That being said, I think that if you bring a child into this world it is your responsibility to take care of it.

I almost did it in 1995. My son had been born and was 4 months old when my then-wife wanted to visited family in the south and then drive from there to Orlando. It was a horrible trip. We were in the Florida panhandle when she blew up on her daughter and jumped over the seats in the van to give the little girl a smackdown. I pulled over and separated them. She became hysterical and I took her to a nearby hospital, a really small run-down place. I had to stay with her daughters and my son for the day. I remember taking him the van in high heat to change and feed him and hold him while he cried. She was released and we made it to Orlando. That night she was viscous and told me she just married me for the security. That she didn't love me and wanted me gone that night and I would not see my son again. I sat in the van and cried that night. I had my Colt with me. I wrote a letter to my parents and another to my son. I came so close. The next morning I went into the room packed up, she followed me with her daughters and my son and we drove home in sullen silence for 17 hours. I had been awake for 51 hours through all that.

I will never consider suicide again no matter how bad things are. I realized on that night that I want to see tomorrow which has become my motto. If you are young be smart and aware. Try to be objective when looking at yourself and those around you. If you are subjective when looking at her you will not see the flags.
