I remember this. Was an ugly shirt but I don't care personally. He should have changed before going on TV, but if I recall it was a last minute thing and he probably did not think of the blowback that would come from the 'shirt' and was focusing on the science and his job. I felt bad for the guy, he was judged for something irrelevant to the important matter he was presenting.

I remember this well. That year was my year zero. I learned that it doesn't matter if you've performed an extraordinary feat of engineering designing, planning and executing the landing of a space craft on unstable ground on a target moving at upwards of 70 km a second after travelling around 6 million km and wearing a funny shirt your female friend made for you.
