If the experiment was conducted in North America I believe the general result would be that the girls would hit the boys a majority of the time. I do not believe, however, that boys would hit girls. The reason being that as a child, I grew up in North America, I was always told "Boys can't hit girls" or "Real men don't hit girls" etc. The reverse is not taught to girls and girls hitting boys is thought of as comedic and subsequently encouraged by the response or lack thereof. Additionally, both genders have the least amount of etiquette schooling as at any point in US history. In a past time, it was not taught that "Boys don't hit girls" but rather a boy was taught the virtues of a man while a girl was taught the virtues of a woman and upon embracing these virtues a mutual respect with the man as dominant and woman as submissive was created. Time has diminished this relationship as boys no longer are close with their fathers who go to work and thus the mother has to raise both the boys and girls. This results in the special status of females as mothers are more likely to bond with daughters/other mothers daughters than their sons. The reverse would be true if fathers stayed at home to raise kids and mothers worked.

Why? Smells like confirmation bias at play.

But true, a "slap him" experiment would be interesting. India is a different culture, perhaps violence is to a higher extent taboo in general.

In North America, particularly Can/US (can't really speak for Mexico too much) men would probably hit women 50/50, women would almost 100% hit a man...basing that off of our upbringing where boys are generally taught that hitting women is wrong, but outlying factors will cause that bit of "programming" to fail in a large portion of the male population, but women get no such schooling on etiquette, and given their general arrogance these days many would not hesitate to hit (again some outlying circumstances in personal morals and upgringing will cause some to fall outside the expected norm).
