How do you think I feel? Look at my screen name. I was there when the originals came out, not the special editions, the real movies. My house is full of Star Wars drones, games, and I get some of my exercise from Lightsaber classes, I'm good enough to go the national tournament. My instructor made it to the international tournament in spain. I didn't think the last one could be worse than "The Last Jedi" But Kathleen Kennedy and J.J. Abrams took up the challenge and succeeded in doing so.

The first move I saw in our lovely old art deco theater was Star Wars on release, I was 7, I don't have huge collections of stuff but at one point I could play the original trilogy through in my head I'd watched them that much (wore out the VHS tapes).
Never watched the latest mouse droppings, had a sense they'd be trash and was proven right.

Solo had a few 100 million loss. The main movies made only a billion at the box office. While they had the potential of making 2+ billion. We will see where the last movie ends, but it's not looking good. Will never break 2 billion. The toys sales have been dropping and dropping. Hasbro is NOT happy. The toys were in sale already before even hitting the market. No one wants to buy that crap while merchandise is were the money is made! Do you know anyone that bought any of that shit? I don't... No one cares for these characters. Toys of the original movies were still being sold in droves even 20 YEARS after the movies. Who is his right mind would buy a luke soywalker now?
But in overall, they are at a loss because the entire transaction was 3 billion to buy the ip.
It's one big cluster fuck.
And EA games isn't help much with their redicoulous behavior.

If you think they have already got back their money from the license cost .... you really need to think a little bit harder.
To make a movie, costs A LOT of money. then double that for marketing expenses. Cinema's also get a cut from those tickets, because cinema's don't run for free. And taxes aren't removed either from those ticket sales.
for example: I have a site here that say budget of force awakens was 250.000.000 but that is just PRODUCTION cost. Marketing isn't included in this. Which is the biggest cost. So you can add another good 250.000.000 on top of that. That is already 500.000.000.
Ain't no fucking way they have already gotten their money back.

Frankly I only liked the original Star Wars. Simple movie, simple story, no drama.

And Rise of Souwalker is from everything I’ve seen, not worth my ticket money. And it’s not even worth streaming for free. I just have zero interest.

I read an interesting review of the latest on RottenTomatoes by a female film critic. I think she writes for Time Magazine. She said that the movie is ruined by an "anxiety not to offend." I gave up on Star Wars, but I noticed this too in the new movies.
