Not sure who this is for or if this helps anyone, but I reached a very important conclusion just yesterday.

I'm in my mid 20's now and have been since my early teens; throwing myself emotionally at women who, in hindsight, didn't deserve it. Honestly, this says more about me than about women, but I joined this sub because I'm making a philosophical change.

I was seeing someone casually (from work-FUCKING MISTAKE) and as per usual we developed strong feelings to the point where she decided to be totally upfront about "her brain being wired to only want poly relationships."

Up until now, I've been very happy for the last 12 months on my own (sans abusive ex for the last 9 years). But obviously we decided to amicably drop this "casual" thing we had and it felt like it threw me back to square one.

BUT, I discovered MGTOW. Honestly, I don't agree with everything posted here, but it never occurred to me until I came here that I didn't HAVE to throw myself emotionally at women. I now recognise that I've always been an emotional crutch & an occasional fuck to the women I was interested in and receiving nothing meaningful in return.

So yesterday, instead of spiralling, breaking down and begging to be in a woman's life, I nut up and put some trainers on. Went running, and exercised for 90 mins. I was fucking EXCITED for the opportunity to improve myself for no one's benefit but my own. There's been so many positive changes that I've put in place for myself despite everything. I've moved into my own place in the city that's super comfy and close to work. I've got a great job and am investing for the first time in my life. And now I'm building my mind and body back up.

Long story short is that I'm taking back MY time, MY money, MY emotional and physical labour. If someone wants those things from me, they better fucking be prepared to work for it.
