She will serve less than 8 months. She should have been given the same length of sentence that the man she accused of rape would have got, had he been found guilty.

Once she's out of her 16-month ~~vacation~~ jail sentence, she'll probably go back to her old ways of lying and ruining other people's lives. Maybe the authorities will wait for another 10 false claims to sentence her for 32 months?

Also... something VERY important for everyone to note:

Detectives later viewed CCTV covering part of the house in which Jones claimed to have been attacked, which did not support her story as it showed she was not forcibly taken there.

Seriously, home security cameras are CHEAP -- we're talking a few hundred bucks -- and the "insurance" they provide against an allegation like THIS alone (not to mention value in terms of other things -- theft deterrant, defense against being accused of any/many OTHER things as well) is more than worth the cost.

The cost of a defense lawyer -- to fight against ANY of this kind of crap -- is vastly higher (and while it cannot be entirely eliminated, it certainly CAN be dramatically reduced when you have "video" proving the allegation to be a lie).

Additionally... note that she WASN'T actually cohabiting with the guy; she simply was IN HIS HOUSE as a quasi-girlfriend/acquaintance. (And she claimed the reason she made the accusation was: "she said she did it because she did not like him." -- let that sink in.)

DC Tim Blanche, from Southampton's Public Protection Department, who led the investigation, said Jones had a complex life.

He said she had been in "intimate" contact with the latest man she accused but they didn't live together.

The pair had an argument and Jones was upset, so decided to make her eleventh fabricated allegation of rape, he added.

It's important to note that video evidence COULD have been enough to reveal her lie, contradict her story -- even if she HADN'T been at/in his home -- simply by providing evidence of her ABSENCE at the time/place (his home) she claimed the rape occurred, and/or date & time stamped evidence of an "alibi" for him (that he was AT HOME at the time, and thus NOT at some other location).

Again:

He [the Judge] added: "The evidence in the case was so conclusive as the CCTV images were so clear. I imagine that with the previous allegations the evidence hasn't been there."
