Not dating women(rarely, if ever) , not keeping up with joneses , Not sucking up to anyone for anything and just focusing on yourself .

These tips seemed like a meme when I first came across the redpill few years ago. I was in a relationship at that time , surrounded by good friends and "happy" overall.

Eventually there came a point where I one day woke up and realized that my life is mostly filled with shit I do for others. It made me super miserable because I realized one single fact. This fact hit me so hard that I went into a depression at that time.

The fact is - "People only give a shit about you when they believe you have something to offer to them in return, either romance, money, friendship, contacts , whatever. "

I eventually quit everything and stopped talking to almost everyone. I lied that I lost money/job/contacts and I cannot help them in whatever way I can. Then I had to breakup with my girlfriend because after telling her that I had no money, she got back into touch with her ex and hid his number under her recently deceased dad's name. That I felt was pretty fucked up.

Focusing internally on yourself and developing a personal philosophy is what changed my life. I don't feel 'regret' by wasting time everyday now because I was so obsessed with success from early childhood (it was a result of bad parenting and environment but I am not going to blame anyone personally).

Now I wake up, work, read a business book or articles on latest scientific research , get some physical exercise and chill out by the end of the night. I don't even respond to texts and calls from friends and family anymore unless I'm ABSOLUTELY FREE.

I don't know whether I can say for sure that I am happier than before (I'm still working on my goals and it is stressful at times) but if you consider happiness as peace of mind + contentment, then I'm definitely happy.

Thanks.
