I'm currently an engineer making around $70k right out of college. No debt.

I also happen to be Black, which I promise you is somehow considered a credible item on my resume these days; an immigrant as well to put the cherry on top, and garner me a solid silver medal in the O. Olympics. I'm going to get a 10% raise very soon, regardless of my performance. I'm 24.

I know this makes me sound lazy. But I do not honestly see the point of going back to school to get a graduate degree. I've got all the hard and soft skills for my job and can effortlessly save over $20k a year with my current lifestyle, which costs around $15k-$20k max a year. It's honestly somewhat demotivating to be a high achiever because you'd get your due regardless. I also cannot be bothered with the rat race of climbing corporate ladders. I cannot be asked to be at work for anymore than the time I'm paid for. I Just do my job for the time ascribed, keep to myself as much as humanly possible and leave. I have all the money I need and my time is now far more valuable.

After no real effort in observation, there are no real dedicated hierarchies in performance since even someone in last place literally gets $100 bucks less (yearly) in merit raises. Forgive the crude humor, but with my silver medal in mind, I genuinely believe I'd have to dropkick a female manager during her own presentation to get fired from my job. This is probably a good time to mention that my employer is proudly affirmative action. Yep.

I've already saved $25k in my first year of working alone; planning to invest $20k of it. Celebrate with me! I honestly still can't believe how easy this is with this lifestyle. My life is truly on what was coined "easy mode." So much so that I'm setting new challenges for myself. The gym being an obvious one. Sleeping and waking up early is another. Reading tons of books (please recommend), trying new hobbies (booked to ski all season this upcoming winter/please recommend here as well), and the list goes on; I game a bit as well.

At this pace, God-willing I remain employed, healthy and able, even if my investments are mediocre in performance I'd still be able to fully retire in 20 years.

This obviously a random post. In principle, I'm completely bamboozled and couldn't disagree more with the way things are being run. As a MGTOW however, you can't possibly blame me for feeding off the low-hanging fruit given to me and grabbing some popcorn for the show.

Might as well enjoy the ride.
