Kids are THE go to excuse for pretty much EVERYTHING with basically ALL working women*; the child(ren) are why they:

get "extra" days off.
came in an hour late.
have to leave an hour early.
needed and extra long lunch hour.
work overtime, pull the weekend shift, or take the "emergency call" tasks, etc.

* And if their kids are all grown, then abracabadra it's about grandchild(ren) -- who they just happen to be watching/babysitting, whatever.

I once had to do something at 04 in the bass crack of dawn, because of that BS..... do not ask, just know that many months later I'm still salty because the SM in question is an insufferable bitch who was on my shortlist anyway

They come in for like 5 hours and leave, and no one bats an eye. This female employee was supposed to join a meeting and she tells me, "I am sorry I cannot join, I need to feed the baby." Who cares? I did arrange for a substitute that time, but I have learnt about pussypass since then.

Has bought up my daughter by myself for 5 years now. [Currently 10 y/o] Number of times late or absent from work because her, 0. But will add - ALL mums use the kid card, even those in relationships.

In my former job, I was the only male in an 8 person department. In my six years there, I saw six pregnancies. Guess who had to pick up the slack with no additional compensation? Yep. Me. When I was finally able to leave that job, I specifically looked for a primarily male/no breeder women and I found a great work environment now.

I'm not stalling my career because some breeder wants more crotchfruit.

Big question here.... do they get "extra" time off? I probably use a couple days a year for my daughter, but I have to use my actual PTO just like if I was sick or needed a personal day.

Since the women at my last place of employment didnt have kids, they did the same thing as OP with their dogs instead.

It's not just single moms. It's all of them. Every female employee I've ever had has used all their sick days in the first quarter of every year. I run a small company and when someone calls in, it can really fuck me over. I just fired my last female employee. There will never be another.

This happens with married mothers as well. All of the women I work with that have kids use every last sick day and us guy’s use 1-2 sick days a year.

Maybe she doesn't have a family member or a nanny to help her when the kid is sick? Also we don't know how much the father is involved, shouldn't he also be responsible and not leaving the mother to be alone?
