I fell for the single Mom with 1 kid. While dating I let her move into my place after her lease ran out. After she was settled in, she offered to pay for nothing and did no cleaning or cooking. The 10 year old boy did nothing but scream constantly and destroy the bathroom/bedrooms. Luckily I got them out after 2 months or so. She had grand plans for me buying us all a house within a few months, follwed by marriage. Instead, I had reached my breaking point. For the young guys -- You think that living with them will be like dating them. They give you their BEST effort one or two nights a week, for only a few hours while dating (and the kid isn't there). Then they go back home. I was stupid and thought that feeling would translate into living together. Boy was I wrong.

Years ago I had one move in with me and pulled the same shit...no rent, utilities nada. Then told me I had to legally evict her which would take 30 days and she could get an extension on that and still not have to pay anything. I drove over to my local biker bar. Told the bartender I needed 5 guys to move in for a free months rent and watch my nice 3 bedroom pool home while I was out of town on business. She found them in no time and they followed me home all on Harley's. I told them never mind her she lives here but she doesn't pay anything. Then I looked at her and said these are your new room mates, they all have leases, as they looked at her like a piece of fried chicken. I never saw a woman pack her shit so fast!

yeah in the past single mothers were a result of wars, accidents, or diseases claiming their husbands and not so long ago it might be from divorcing an abusive asshole but now the majority of them never married their baby's daddy because he was either married to someone else, in prison, had no job prospects to consider marrying, or dead from drug overdose or shot to death by police or gang members. You know even back years ago, if this happened it was very hard for the woman to find another husband. This happened to my grandmother, dad's mum. My grandfather had a sudden, fatal heart attack at 42 which was almost certainly war related, he had seen a lot of combat in WW2 against the Japanese. My grandmother was left with 4 children, my dad being the oldest pretty much had to go out and work as soon as he could to help look after the family. My grandmother never found another man, no one wanted her.

Most mothers don't really love their children. They are emotionally dependent on them but they don't really care about them as actual independent human beings.
