I've gotten one, it was more of a personal deal for me. I had a gf who decided to stop taking BC and I caught it early before anything happened. I had another girl I was dating who was straight TradThot that was "taking" BC. Magically she ended up pregnant, which didn't really seem right since other measures were taken. Thankfully she had a "miscarriage" early on, though I'll never know for sure.

After that i was sick of my life being in the hands of another person. I couldn't stand what I considered slavery, on something that I had no say in.

I had thought about kids for about a decade before these things happened. After watching friends and family with kids, I decided I didn't feel like it anymore. My mom tries to guilt trip me all the time, I've never told her about me being sterile. My life, my choice.

I got one. Had a great time with the doctor and nurses. Chit chatted and swap jokes during the procedure. The worst part about it was the disinfection cream that they spread all over that shit burn like a cold fire that never seem to end. But then as quick as a snap the burning stops.

Now there's going to be macho guys that are going to tell you oh I was writing course Back 2 days later and had no trouble or I went jet skiing the next day blah blah blah. Do not do that. Take 3 days off and ice your nuts the whole time. Then when you're back at work continue to keep an ice pack on if at all possible for the following week. Listen and do every post op procedure they tell you. You do not want chronic testicle pain for the rest of your life simply because you wanted to look tough.

Snipped about... oh six or seven years ago. The procedure isn't expensive ($500 if memory serves), and the peace of mind is well worth it. Still use condoms everytime for std concerns, but knowing you can whip out the vasectomy card and test results showing your sterile is one less worry.

So consider this; it’s one thing to have a 50-50 chance for your partner to drag you through misery, but it’s the same odds for kids to grow up to resent, loathe, and hate you as well.

Who would ever place bets on those odds?

I had a similar experience with an ex that was “pregnant “ then ghosted me. Then supposedly had a miscarriage, that mind fucked me for awhile. Later on a dated a woman who has 2 kids, for a few years, that was an eye opener. Now the girl I’m with, said she wanted kids and when I expressed that I was unsure about it, she is now saying she is okay with not having kids, she’s quite a bit younger than me and this mindset is making me nervous. She’s on BC, but I know how easy it would be to have an “oops”... I’ve been backing away and she’s getting more clingy.

That’s another thing, I do love kids. But it would be my worse nightmare to be forced to be a part time dad, not to mention the financial aspect if she decided to leave. I just don’t know if the risk would out weigh the reward.

After three kids with two different women/marriages....I got it done in my late 30s early in my 2nd marriage. If you want kids like me, then just knock up the best female specimen you come across (just like our caveman precursors) and prepare to pay child support etc. down the road.

Just DO NOT MARRY HER!

My best times these days are when I have my kids on weekends.

I really believe the key to a modern man's happiness is the MGTOW credo:
