When you consider the state the Germans were in when Adolf took power what he accomplished is nothing short of amazing. The economy was in ruin, the military was wiped out, social cohesion was absent and he made it a world power in a few short years.

Bullshit! His Predecessor already brought the economy back on track. The economy in Germany was worst in 1929, he took power in 1933. Also the economic successes he had were only due to spending on debt, so he was basically forced to declare war because he bankrupted Germany with the huge debts he generated.

Mostly yes, but for instance the Romans would build roads and stuff. Conquered people could also become citizens etc. etc..
Same with America - despite their mistakes and shenanigans the US/NATO has not used its power to completely pillage and rape the world.

Not during wartime, they don't. Romans weren't building "roads and stuff" while still fighting to conquer said nation. It was only after the war was won and peace reached that they would go back to improve on their new properties.
As I recall, World War 2 did not end with peace in Germany's favor, so that argument is moot. No sane leader builds or upgrades civilian infrastructure (besides what's needed for their troops) in a nation that they are still fighting to retain from their enemies.
You don't like the German regime from 1933-1945, that's fine. I'm just trying to point out that fighting a multiple front war with developed nations (at times four or five fronts) is not all rosy and you cannot compare that to colonization or standard territorial expansion through weaker nations.

You can actually accomplish a lot with nationalism. If you can motivate people to do things for love of country then they'll temporarily overlook their current poverty. People were willing to give the Nazis a chance, because they were desperate.
The Germans were also forced to innovate. Their submarines were so effective because they were previously untried in war and so nobody had good tactics to defeat them at the start of the war. The Germans invested in subs because they weren't allowed to invest in battleships/etc, which is where they probably would have put their money if they were allowed to.
Then the allies basically let them have quite a bit of free training with unopposed invasions into neighboring countries while their own troops were still trained to fight the last war. Some of that was because the allies were as concerned with each other (especially the Russia vs US/UK/France divide) as with the Germans.
At the same time it would be foolish to just dismiss Hitler. He was a very charismatic leader - I doubt there are many who could have united the Germans behind such a wide-reaching effort, even if it was towards evil purposes.

Actually, the decision to build battleships was a terrible one that contributed to Germany losing the war. I don't remember if it was in a video or a book, but I saw somewhere that all the man-hours, materials, dock time, etc. that went into the Bismark could have made a hundred submarines, which would have been a serious burden on allied shipping.

It has taken me quite a while to reach peak bitterness, but I think I am nearly there. Should have split years ago but I thought putting my kids welfare and education above my personal needs was the way to go. In hindsight I think it was not the right decision. If I had left her years ago I might be over it by now. I am always reminded of the old joke along the lines of "If I had killed her I would be out by now".
