I think one thing we can all agree on here is that women who file false rape accusations are trash. Not only do they ruin the lives of the men they falsely accuse, but they also take away credibility from women who were actually raped. Now I know I’m going to get shitted on for saying that but rape is heinous crime and in cases where it’s true I believe rapist should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. Now I’ve seen multiple people say we should punish false rape accusers and while I agree it always presented a problem to me. If their is a punishment for lying then women who made false rape accusations are going to be less likely to admit to lying in order to free innocent men. So the solution I present is simple. If an accusation is made and it is deemed to be a deliberate attempt to extort/convict someone who is innocent a mandatory minimum of 10 years in prison; however if the man accused has already been convicted and is serving his sentence and a woman confessed to lying then there would be no repercussions. Although it sucks this way we can ensure that innocent men can be freed easier. This would create a different to lie but would also not discourage women from confessing to lying one a man is serving time. What do you think?
