So of all the 8 relationships I've been in, the girls have always been "expecting" stuff from me.. expecting change in behavior, expecting gifts, expecting me to carry their handbags in public.. you get the gist, but none of them made the effort to see how they could be of "service".. you know, how they could help me. But for some of my friends they actually have girls who go out of their way for them.. cooked for them, spoiled them, initiated sex without waiting for the guy to degrade himself by begging first.. and it got me wondering.. am I just unlucky? Is there something I do to attract the other type of women? Because they actually look suprised when I raise the "what about what I expect from you" question.. like it never crossed their mind that I would have expectations of them too. And no I don't fall into the "nice guy" category, I hold out on stuff and say "no" whenever i'm uncomfortable with something, but the last two relationships I was in I basically broke up with the girls because the effort necessary to keep them happy wasn't worth the rewards (dead-log sex, socks on my birthday... i'm taking flowers to her work for no reason for this??). And up to this point they are still trying to get back with me because they don't understand why I broke up with them. As far as they know they were perfect.. but for me I got no benefits out of the relationship, none that justified the hoops I was jumping through to make them happy.

So Yeah.. my question is.. Why do some guys end up with girls who stress the shit out of their boyfriends, but still pull their weight in one way or another in the relationship (Yes, bull is thrown at them, but they still get some Return On Investment for putting up with all that), and why do some of us end up in relationships where we are basically man servants and the girl seems shocked at the notion that her job in the relationship is more than to sit and look pretty.. or is my sample of 8 relationships not big enough to make any sort of conclusion? or does the fact that you're putting in effort into the relationship make them believe they don't have to, if you're going out of your way for her then you're probably happy.. is that how it is?
