I've never been popular with women. I'm not a pussy crusher, lady killer, etc. I'm a big guy (6'4), slightly over weight, saddled with genetic depression thanks to my mom. This tends to throw me into prolonged periods of rumination and generally negative self reflection (pity party).

As I get on in years (at the whopping age of 28), I'm beginning to think that I've missed something somewhere. I miss the feeling of being in love with a woman; the warm fuzzies, dopamine and oxytocin dump that accompanies intimate companionship. I started trying to find a girl I can tolerate on online dating sites; I have no time or tolerance for the bar scene. After trying to strike up conversations with hundreds of women who I thought would be decent, one actually decided I was worth meeting. After one date, she decided we were romantically incompatible. Needless to say, I'm kind of bummed; though she was probably too good to be true anyway.

Rambling aside here, does any one else feel depressed that this is the state of things? It just seems very sad to me that, let's face it, our women are so duplicitous, conniving, manipulative, etc., that it's easier to try and go through life alone?
