Look for undervalued stocks, good time to buy low IMO. I'm a long term, buy and hold investor, because of my age and wealth loss due to divorce - my investment strategy is more conservative now, looking for income more than growth now. So you may have different goals, strategies for your age.

It sounds trite, but "buy low, sell high" lol. That is, don't panic sell stocks that are below what you paid, you may have to hold awhile, unless you think they're gonna freefall and you want to minimize your losses. Think and weigh your choices. If you can, buy while the market is going down, decide how low you think it will go (bottom out) and when the time is right to get in. Not a market-timer here, my approach is to decide when something is a good price to buy or sell, then act accordingly (I think it's called value investing?)

Come up with a logical plan for your investment goals and stick to it as long as it works, adjust as necessary and always keep emotions out. Emotions lead to mistakes.

Get actual silver get out of the stock market now. The system is crumbling. The bonds are unsellable. The dirivatives and interest on deposits do not even match inflation. Get silver in your hand not cert of holding but the actual metal. Buy firearms and bullets and get organic seeds. Time is running out. Or call me paranoid and blow me off. I believe the world finacials are about to really implode like worse than 1929 2008.

I'm buying a lot of Canadian stuff right now. Some things have dividends around 9%. Ever hear of a franchise called Boston Pizza? I ate there a few times before and it seemed like a nice enough franchise.

Unless you really know what you're doing, don't buy individual stocks. Most small investors lose. Instead get a good index mutual fund. The old go-to is the S&P500.

You may consider adding some investment grade preferred stocks to the mix. They function more or less like bonds, but are far less of a hassle to buy and sell.

You can earn a solid 5-6%, paid out quarterly (some monthly). I’ve even got one that pays out 11%. Just put the money there until the company buys back the stock at some point after the call date.

Got burnt out on high risk swing trading, though I earned a solid 20%, it wasn’t worth all the stress. Preferred stocks generate a nice passive income that gets deposited into my account as cash. Also, many preferred stocks pay qualified dividends, meaning they’re taxed at a significantly lower rate.

Megabullish on Stratis. Going to reach ATH soon. x25 at least. Basically they took the c++ bitcoin node code and rewritten it in C#. Smart contracts, Distributed Ledger Technology , sidechains, ICO Platform, Identity, Tumblebit, partnership with Microsoft. This month is full with releases and a big opportunity. It's best to buy asap and not wait it out. This is a real company with a bright future and they have a shitload of fundings to work with. Definitely a blue chip company.

The best way to make money now is to be short in the market. Short the ASX 200 (Australia) and most US indexes rather than individual stocks as this is a time of high volatility.

Add leverage through CFD (Certificates for Difference).
