I would have joined much earlier, but only recently found out that an email is not required to create a Reddit profile. Under no circumstance did I want to lose my indemnity especially where I work.

Anyway, I have been going my way for over 4 years. Every once in a while I meet a NAWALT (yeah, I know there is no such thing), and think about going back to the plantation. I come here to wake the fuck back up.

I noticed that a lot of young men are asking questions. At age 50 and well past my rage phase, I want to give back to the community that helped me see the real world.

Maybe my joining now was just coincidence and an outlier to the recent increase growth.

Incredible growth to say the least. You have to remember that MGTOW had stigma that it was a path without women totally. I think that stigma is wearing off and men are understand it just simply means putting yourself first.

I think men are also growing tired of the mainstream media stories attacking men that us MGTOW see on a daily basis. There's a cultural shift and I think we have the recent false allegations to thank for our growth.

The Peterson interview in channel 4 has also helped me to realise we were not the opressors and were right to proudly hold our views.

Society is what it is in its actual state and we have nothing to blame ourselves for its state. We can either fight it or accommodate how to better live in it.

Edit : and the fact that he refused to enter the play of feminine aggressiveness, instead calmly answering with manly logic and reasoning.

Pretty sure it's because of MeToo and the recent Jordan Peterson interviews.

It's crazy how we have more users online than some of the much bigger subs such as TRP, etc.

Long answer:

Positive news drive new subscribers, looking for precisely the things manosphere media glorify about MGTOW.
Negative news drive new subscribers, looking for precisely the things misandric media complain about MGTOW.

It does not matter whether the news are positive or negative. Describing MGTOW tenets will drive more people to it. Disregard if you describe them as positive, or negative.

I think there are a lot of disappointed guys out there, particularly with respect to dating and romantic relationships but also with respect to broader issues like economics. The Internet is also breaking up mainstream media's control over what ideas get talked about -- when other ideas are heard, mainstream media looks more and more like propaganda, especially lately.

It's pretty rough having disappointments with the world, feeling like people largely don't care, and then feeling like the public is being propagandized for the benefit of others. People want philosophies that can help them make sense of the world. They are tired of feeling like they are things that exist to be manipulated for the benefit of others.

Society is making guys open and ready to going MGTOW, probably without even knowing it. MGTOW has direct fast benefits like peace and quiet (for example, time alone), freedom, more money, and less disappointment. It's also a perfectly civilized way to complain back to the system -- "just walk away, and do your own thing."

With society basically pushing guys toward MGTOW, this group probably grows just by continuing to exist, with really not much organized efforts trying to spread word of it.

It will be interesting to see how big this philosophy gets. It would be very difficult to address the issues that make people go MGTOW; therefore, I do not think those issues will be addressed. There is no quick fix for it all like some ad campaign.

This might explain at least a part of it. MGTOW.com requires a membership fee to participate on the forums there. All of the different types of people wind up here since it's free.
