It's not only just that. They are so god damn incompetent.

My old man found out today that he had paid over $60 in Itunes-music service that he didn't know anything about. I call them, get a guy, we solve it within 10 minutes and all of his money is refunded.

In contrast I had found out my ISP was overcharging us for quite a while, I get a female on the line, she runs it around circles for two hours changing the problem and talking absolute nonsense, I hang up seeing that I had wasted hours upon hours talking to a complete dunce.

I call back later and get a guy, we solve my problem within 5 minutes.

There's also the other end of the scale, where ignoring them will get you in trouble. I had a complaint at work where I didn't smile at/nod/say hello to a women at my work while passing her in the hallway. It's such a fucking thin line to tow.

Not just female employees, but also clients.

I just discovered that a female client had been asking my colleagues about my personal status (if I was single, married, if I lived alone etc).

If the genders were switched, there'd be hell to pay. And this female client is also married. Dark clouds on the horizon.

Recently had a sexual harassment alert go out on the campus I go to. My co-workers were all stunned and in misbelief how something just happen on a safe campus. I dismissed the text and told them that false reports are very common. No shit, the next day we got a text back from the University saying the suspect was apprehended but the case was dismissed and the report was falsified. If I can find the text I'll post it.

In all likelihood, I should probably start making a sensible plan for this. There is a mid-twenties single mom at work that is near daily making a pass at me. It's funny to me, because I don't even have betabucks. I don't really think she is the problem or even that she's really a bad person, just that society makes the situation untenable, unworkable and a waste of time. I think she might even be pregnant again. It's just survival, so I don't take it personally.

I just meet the advances with resigned silence. Never comment, never respond, bite my tongue instead of just making a joke. The situation is going to metamorphose into something unpleasant eventually. The temptation is to shut it down, but I don't because I feel that just because she has stepped into a masculine courtship role doesn't mean that I am forced to step into the feminine gatekeeping role. So I don't.

Maybe I should log something with HR. I don't want them to do anything, just have a record on file. Mostly, I just want them to know that I am not a legal threat to the company in the case of some inaction or something. It's a small company and I prefer that the team succeed.
