Go with realdoll.com for the best silicone based units. The magnetic faces are great in that you change them easily in less than a minute. Like having a girlfriend, there is some preparation and clean up - so its 'kinda' like a date in that regard. Honestly one thing that keeps me from buying a sex doll is the maintenance that’s required. There’s two type of materials TPE and silicone pussy sleeves are also made of this material. Some dolls don’t have swappable inserts, stuff like TPE requires powdering to keep it smooth after washing. I hope in the future scientists can figure out better material, maybe self healing material or something.
For now it’s a pass. Still artificial pussy sleeves are still great.

Maintenance concerns are overblown. It's really not complicated. Keep her in a blanket. Powder and wash like once a month. After use use soap/water and dry her out with hand towels. Keeping them dry is the key to keeping them safe.
All in all I spend less than a minute cleaning mine up after sex.
The really BIG issue with TPE is the dye issue. TPE absorbs things. Especially dye from clothes. So TPE dolls need fabrics that either have little dye or skin color dye. For example my somewhat pink doll only wears pink underwear. The fleshy tone one wears white.
Silicone doesn't have the dye issue but it does have a tearing issue. Unlike TPE that can be stretched pretty far but silicone can't.
Also skeletons have to be respected. Especially hands. The hands on the lower end TPE dolls are notoriously cheap wires that bend only so many times before breaking. Most doll owners keep the hands in something like a heavy glove to protect the fingers. Other than that the dolls are really durable.

TV culture has made it to where some men fantasize about androids that are basically equivalent of a human women but won’t take half your assets or divorce or say no to certain things. The AI is only able to give responses that it has in its repertoire for things that are said. The speech recognition is pretty darn good at present and not bad on the speech synthesis for the response. However, it is not truly AI in that it misses many nuances (but can still be amusing). And the robotic head with AI option (a pricey add on) can be upgraded as the improvements are made. But these do not have anything like general full mobility or reasoning just yet.
There are many players with major budgets that are working on this though. The robots/androids/gynoids are not just envisioned for sex, but also companionship and work as well (such as making and serving food, or cleaning a house, or serving as a receptionist). There is significant effort going into the race to fill the coming robotic marketplace demand. For the models intended for sex, there would just be different moves available suitable for that mode of use.
I think the AI option already has the wireless connection to the internet so if you ask a question the response can be rendered to speech by accessing wikipedia and reading a related article. Doesn't seem to be much question that this is coming - looks like it will be a transforming factor for those civilizations that have a need for it and can afford it.

Don't know about employment info for getting involved with that business. Can tell you that there are those who call these companies asking about being hired as 'testers' for product - that will only provide amusement as this is not something they hire for.
I have seen that artists are employed for ensuring good aesthetics and that there are workers that pour the materials into the molds. Of course, there are office personnel, shipping department, customer service, and all that. But I really could not advise on how to enter into that field. Oh...if you are a programmer then having AI developmental skills would be a calling card.

Reproducing at the rate we are? For every one birth there are three deaths. I do not think that is a reversal that is healthy. The death toll is expected to increase by 2025 to four for every one. Nothing wrong with opening a labor robot rental business - but for sexual pleasure a male sexbot would not likely serve her enough to warrant the expense.
But who knows? If men really do end up abandoning the tradition of pairing up with actual women, the women may indeed desire 'an elaborate masturbation tool' of their own. They could even get five or ten of them, hide them in different parts of the house, have sex with them on a rotating schedule, and pretend they don't know about each other.

A few reasons;
Men have already wasted their intellect in developing stoves, microwaves, washing machines, dish washers.. basically automating house work for women.. and they still complain about how hard house work is.
Even if we automated it further and develop a male robot who could do all those automatic chores for a woman, women would still be unhappy because they wouldn't get the satisfaction of feeling like they've enslaved/trapped/manipulated him into doing the work for her.
Not to mention, I highly doubt robots would be capable of doing chores because the moment you make a robot be able to pick something up and move at a fast pace, you open yourself up to people getting accidentally murdered by robots holding knives while doing chores or choking people during sex.
Sex robots would have to move very slowly and be incredibly weak to avoid these scenarios.

Your second point seems to contradict the first. You implied that appliances were invited in order to automate housework for women, and then that they'd be unhappy if those chores were done by a robot instead of an appliance. If the latter were true, wouldn't current-age appliances have the same effect, as they're taking away the ability to hold those chores over the man's head?
I've got a "robot" vacuuming my floor right now. I only expect technology like that to improve over time, and I don't think making that robot incredibly fast/strong would be necessary for it to accomplish that job. In fact, I don't think any robot would be calibrated beyond average human strength and speed outside of very specific models created to do very specific jobs.

It is possible to automate house work further by for example making vacuum cleaners do the job themselves instead of making a humanoid robot operate the vacuum cleaner.
The problem arises through human nature, or more specifically, female nature; they are biologically made to submit. A man telling them to do house work keeps them from getting depressed and having to go to therapy and pop pills to numb their misery. This is why depression and therapy sessions are increasing in women today, because it is also in their nature to resist authority before submission and thanks to feminism, men are not allowed to have authority over women now. So when a woman orders her man to do the chores, he is legally obligated to do it, and the woman will slowly get more depressed and she's end up going to therapy to figure out what's happening.
Likewise, even if we managed to completely automate house work without the need of a humanoid robot to do the work, women will only end up complaining about something else and not appreciate the automation, because it's in their nature to want more. What happens when they get more? They'll want more of more because getting more won't make them happy.

I also think you're being a bit biased regarding women complaining about housework. I don't particularly enjoy doing chores, and typically have some sort of internal complaint session while doing them. I'd never feel the need to go to therapy due to that dislike, however.
On that note, I believe that the rates of people that seek therapy today have increased across the board, regardless of gender. I definitely don't see this is a bad thing, as therapy is a healthy activity and could benefit anyone, depressed or not. I think you may be disparaging against women as a whole, whereas you're moreso unhappy with a certain personality type like laziness (of which I'd argue that males of the current generation far outrank females in)

These are already available though in much less quantity and variations. Most of these are purchased by gay men though. The women are not so interested in this (of their own volition anyway), as the male model will not bring in a paycheck, be exploitable in divorce rape, and provide free dinners and gifts.
