I think there is something to this. There was this girl who was a great girl and an ever greater fuck. However, she was pretty boring and we never really had anything to talk about. I almost stopped seeing her because I got tired of pretending to be interested in her mundane stories and problems. Yet when I think back to her the memories feel so good I miss her. In reality I don't. I miss the idea of her. An idea that takes all her best parts amplifies them while simultaneously blocking out all the bad parts

I had a similar relationship. I remember the fond times more than the negative. I have to remind myself it was not as great as I remember.
