Back in the days there were webdesigners. Now you have User Experience and User Interface designers. Things went down ever since.

Same happened with websites 'optimized' for smartphones, where you had to click on the three-line 'hamburger' icon to toggle the menu while you're browsing on a laptop or desktop.

"B-but muh mobile first!"

Back in the days when you wanted a website you just went to a webdesigner, or your cousin's basement. Nowadays you have to sit with a group of stereotypical millenials who try to impress you by asking if you want a latte machiatto or vegan herbal tea. If you're visiting on a friday and you're lucky you get to taste the homebrew mix of beer and soy from one of the UX-designers.

Then they start talking with words like 'experience', 'story-telling' and 'evidence based web-psychology' to trick you into signing a $12k contract for a WordPress theme with a gazillion options you'll never use.

Trust me, there comes a time when these same yoga-enthousiasts realize that the good ol' simple websites are better. But they'll still manage to make you pay for that experience in their slide- and table hockey filled offices.

Latte anyone?

I entertained " new reddit" for a whopping 30 seconds, Trying to stylize a site that's main focus is being a large think tank is dumb .
