True story: that was me when I was a young man. I wanted a woman to be my wife, my friend, someone to travel with, and have deep conversations.

Two marriages/divorces later I know:

have my own job and a small company of my own
own my own place
car-free since I moved to NYC (I miss my BMW at times)
cook my own meals
clean my own place
do my own laundry
take care of my own business
I used to have 2-3 "friends" with whom I hooked up every now and them, downsized to 1 due to COVID-19

Life's grand! Never been happier.
