Does anyone else feel like this third wave has backfired by putting the onus on men? Time was that feminism was about empowerment but now it's a laundry list of demands of men - conveniently omitting any corrective measures for the other side. Seems like men are tuning out and not only has male support peaked it's receding, like there's no pleasing this insatiable beast that's beginning to eat its own - if a guy is being nice to a woman she's always wondering why, not great for coalition building. I don't see male support for this movement increasing, seems like, if anything, that men that did support are defecting. Whenever I ask a feminist what they'd like to see changed I get vitriol. Perhaps it's a defense mechanism but if I asked someone why they want to save the rainforest giving me attitude isn't gonna make me wanna run over to your side. What surprises me the most is, if you think guys are the worst why put your fate in their hands?

I think the prime reason is - despite claims to the contrary - men are better at point themselves in others' shoes. Women can only see how this is good for them without considering why any man should put any effort into this if they're not getting anything out of it? So you don't bitch at me anymore? Like that's even a possibility. Perhaps it's an expectation because men have been giving to women to level the playing field all this time, from hunting to building to exploration. It's like it's their strongest move - get guys to do it. I can't think of a single time I've been with a group of guys and we confront a problem and we go "you know what we need right now? a group of women!" I used to be sympathetic but now it's all white noise. The PUA community has its flaws but an eye opener for me was how dismissing a woman leads to better behavior on her part. I'm not even talking about taking her home, I'm just talking about civil discourse. Like if I try to help you out I'm seen as being beneath you? How can one be entitled and oppressed?

As if the whole movement are things men have to do for women? Last I checked it make more sense for both sides to get something out of any action. I can't imagine being a part of a movement where I expect to be fed grapes and fanned with a palm leaf while my opponents to do all the lifting for me and to be outraged - I say outraged! - when asked for anything in return.
