I've only had a TPE doll so I can't compare to anything else. I can say that TPE feels incredibly realistic to human skin. However, dolls do not produce body heat. If they are cold, it kinda ruins the realistic feel. I can also say not all TPE dolls are made from high quality TPE materials so the realistic feel and durability will vary between manufacturers. Overall I'm happy with mine but I can see why it didn't be for everyone.

Hello, I read doll forum and have dolls, I have a silicone doll and also some TPE dolls, The silicone feels more cold and is less soft but has better durability, the cold feeling is only an issue if you sleep with doll in winter. The silicone dolls are usually of best brands and TPE dolls have too many copies, I think most TPE is made in China and have different levels of quality, and almost every vendor or factory copies pictures from other sources, they copy photographer pictures and they also copy factory pictures - that makes me think that most dolls come from a few factories, the most striking differences are on the heads and small makeup detail, but that can make a huge difference on how pretty and mature the doll looks, so I think that sites that have good reputation get dolls finished by an artist and the others are simple and may look immature with round face, however is possible to buy extra head but it can be sometimes almost 50% of the total price. The skeleton of the lower quality dolls is quite more difficult to position and can be a turn off during sex, you have to set the position before and quite gently and in a natural way or you end up to injure yourself with excessive force made your hands. The TPE is so flexible that it shifts or rotates and sometimes you loose track of what is the side that the joint angle is facing, so to position the doll requires a bit of experience.
