After being Mr. Nice Guy for my whole life (mostly my own fault as I know now) and a breakup of a 7 year relationship I put -everything- into, I finally learn to focus on myself.
It feels like a 100 tonne concrete slab got moved aside and underneath there was me the whole time.
It is still hard sometimes for me to swallow the realization that I am better off on my own. Close to 40 years of growing up with the whole Hollywood-Disney idea of family, love, house and children left a mark.
Now I have all of my 6 figure income to myself as well as 100% of my spare time. So much to do, discover, travel and learn. I unearthed old hobbies, I focus on health/fitness/nutrition and try to better myself every single day.
I don’t hate women at all. I have a few female friends and I enjoy their company a lot. They all have their life well together, don’t complain, earn a lot above average, remodeled their houses/apartments on their own and just shake their head at the extreme feminism you read so much about.
I just take myself out of the equation and let others do the whole dance. I just wish I would have done this 15 years ago, that would have saved me a lot of heartache. I guess better now than never.
I’m really curious about what kind of person I will be after 10 years of focusing on myself.

Yeah, ultimately everything about modern life is fucked. I feel your pain and recognise myself in your words.
Really the only thing you can do to mitigate this is physical exercise. Set yourself a training goal and fucking go for it, for at least a few years. Your progress will be fast, whatever you get in to.
Me, I've done a wide range of stuff. In 2013 I decided to become a pro level cyclist, and I managed it by 2016. Sat at that extreme level for about 18 months then decided to rest; that level of training and fitness burns you out eventually. Currently I am working myself up to be a muscular athletic looking fucker. I have been weight and body weight training for a few months and have started to see gains. I'll continue this for as long as I enjoy it and see improvements then I might get back on the bike seriously, or I might start and conquer a fighting sport. I am 40 now, but due to training I don't feel old or look old. The physical exercise keeps me fresh and also allows me to form very good relationships with similar strong willed no bullshit men. This is also vital.
Get into it.
