All I want is a family. I'm satisfied with everything else I have. Sure, sex too, of course, like anybody, but that's secondary. I'd rather stop having sex in my forties or fifties and have a family of my own instead over having no family but sex for the rest of my life. At that point the sex is just hollow.

I would like my own family too but at this point I'm considering abandoning that idea completely and just maybe adopting a boy in the future seeing that in my opinion the state will fail the boys who are in foster care.

You're a kindred spirit. When my marriage went downhill I tried to make it work for the sake of the family unit. It was terrible I went more than 3 years wrh no sex (baically when she conceived 2nd time) but I tried to find joy n other areas if life.. Yeah I still had sex drive and occasionally struggle with porn once or twice a month but I was willing t sacrifice that so that my kids could have a mommy and daddy full time who loved them. She threw it all away because not all her emotional needs were met. She had a lot of issues right from her childhood. .. and in all honesty I was not equipped to fix her.. I realize that now. Counsellors recognised that too and one didn't exactly disagree she likely had mix of bpd/npd. She also had very few friends and didnt get out much. . But everything bad in her life was my fault
