When I was younger I used to paint models. For the new year I decided I would paint 30 minutes a day (cause i had a shitload to paint). My gf hated it the very first day, and soon gave me an ultimatum. Either your models or me. She wanted me to sell them all. Needless to say I stopped painting. But only after dumping her. Because I never held a new year resolution anyway. They are still unpainted to this day. She never computed how I could give my preference to some pieces of plastic. I simply choose freedom, and that's priceless.

Yep. What some people fail to realize is that someone who throws ultimatums around to try and get their way won't be tolerated for long.

My games provide me fun, low-risk entertainment in which I can unwind and de-stress from the toils of my day. If I want, I can invite some buddies over and have fun, or I can, from the comfort of my chair, hook-up with them online, and we can have fun goofing off, competing and gaming together. Aside from the tactile and intellectual challenge, in other words, it's also a really entertaining bonding mechanism. On top of that, for a small investment, I can derive an indefinite amount of entertainment and pleasure from each and every single game I own.

You, Carol, provide me with intermittent sexual pleasure, maybe some comfort and nurturing. Since you're asking me to choose between you and my games, it's clear that you not only don't understand why they're important to me, but you also don't care. I can't communicate openly and freely with you on many issues because you either don't care enough to stay informed about them or you just get bored or offended. You aren't as funny as my friends are, you aren't as entertaining as my games are. You feel entitled to my time and attention for no other reason than you have a vagina that I like to use, and finally, you are a constant drain on my finances and have a penchant for creating needless fucking drama that I just do not need.

I'd say that on balance, Carol, you are nowhere near as valuable to me as my video games. Maybe try creating as much joy in my life as this particular hobby, and we might get somewhere.
